Michael Jackson is not the most influential pop music icon of all time.
Michael Jackson's death merits the media coverage it received. He's not actually one of my favorite performers, but I recognize talent when I see it, and totally understand the admiration and emotion. This isn't the media driving the public, but the public interest driving the media.
