I cosponsored H.R. 1186, the Alternative Minimum Tax Repeal Act. This legislation, which had 46 cosponsors in the 109th Congress, would repeal the AMT immediately. While I have concerns the revenue loss would need to be made up in other ways, it is clear to me that this tax is a significant burden on many individuals, particularly in the middle class. I will continue working to eliminate the AMT in the 110th Congress.
