There is no point in capital punishment. Why kill criminals when you are able to put them to work making items the US definately needs? It is better in the long turn to keep the person alive.

The use of torture as an interrogation technique cannot be justified.

There is no point in using torture, because what will happen will be that even if the torturee reveals information, you have no way of knowing that information is true for several days, maybe longer.
