It is appropriate for the President of the United States to make appearances on late night talk shows. Why not? Other major political figures do throughout the world. Part of the POTUS' job is to create and encourage dialogue. I also feel as though the President comes across as more accessible and in touch with the rest of the country when he's appearing on a late night talk show versus at a podium in front of Congress.
"The O'Reilly Factor" is the best Fox News evening program. I enjoy the shouting, name-calling and the arguing of "facts". Also, O'Reilly occasionally delivers a poignant commentary. I appreciate thought-out discourse from all.
Twitter is a fad.
Brian Williams is the evening network news anchor I trust most. B-Dubbs has a great delivery and personality!
TechCrunch should not have published internal Twitter documents leaked to them by a hacker. Next thing you know, your personal medical records will be hacked, leaked and published to your Facebook profile. Aren't there laws against publishing likely stolen materials?
Craigslist should not remove its 'Erotic Services' listings. People need to exercise caution on their own when using a FREE service. Caveat Emptor.
Hulu merits a higher valuation than YouTube. This is solely based on ads and revenue model. On YouTube, the current ad format within videos is spam-like and obnoxious. In turn, it's ineffective. Hulu is finally starting to brand itself with television commercials. It sells advertisements and sponsorships in conjunction with television shows. In the end, Hulu provides premium content. YouTube is simply a video hosting service. It's the Twitter of video.
The Internet has had a negative effect on journalism. I hate to say it... but overall... yeah. Sorry, journalism. I still love you... sometimes.
President Obama's Tonight Show appearance will have no effect on him politically.
Jon Stewart's criticism of CNBC was not appropriate. I really enjoy 'The Daily Show' but am inclined to say Stewart's attempt at live muckraking was extreme and inappropriate. People are looking for scapegoats and to complain about something / someone. CNBC didn't force anyone to do anything, and all business news has ALWAYS required analysis and interpretation. Investing is a gamble, people.
Jon Stewart's criticism of CNBC will not affect the way business news is covered.
CNBC is a credible financial news network. ...as much as any other financial "news" network...
Twitter promotes narcissism. All social networking does to some extent. If you feel posting any information or content related to yourself is something you should be doing, then you feel people care about you and what you have to say... or at the very least should. You're essentially promoting yourself or your family / friends no matter what.
Google should not attempt to acquire Twitter. Personally, I don't see how Google would incorporate Twitter into its business model. Everyone already uses Google for one thing or another. It's cornered most of the internet market share. I think it would simply be an investment, but Google has been smart in cultivating investments and growing its various branches into fully functional and useful technologies. Something tells me the one thing Twitter does is already in the works for the Google mecca. Thus, it doesn't need to buy Twitter. It'll eventually smash it instead.
The New York Post's chimpanzee cartoon is racist. It's racist and offensive on all accounts. Not only does the caption insinuate that the chimpanzee is President Obama, but both cops in the image are clearly white. Papers know that these satirical cartoons are always scrutinized, so the Post clearly knew
NBC should not have rejected PETA's Super Bowl advertisement. Beer & Victoria's Secret ads can be just as spicy.
The government should not provide financial assistance to the print journalism industry.
David Gregory is not a good choice to host Meet the Press. I lost all respect for David Gregory when he patted himself on the back for a job well done over the coverage leading-up to the Iraq war, insisting that he "challenged the President." He went on to say: "If there wasn't a debate in this country, then mayb
O "velho" Facebook tem a melhor aplicação. By light years... I find the new format to be even more cluttered and confusing. However, I also didn't add a million "applications" to my profile page on the old format.
Sim, a mídia tem responsabilidade social de promover imagens positiva do nosso corpo. With great power comes great responsibility. The media, especially in the United States, has grown so immensely in recent years that it now has the power to effectively alter the minds and thoughts of entire generations (much more so than parents and teac
A cobertura dos Jogos Olímpicos 2008 pela NBC TV não foi satisfatória After the first week, post-"Phelps mania", NBC viewers were hard-pressed to find much in the way of live coverage. Thanks to the Internet, results were impossible to avoid in a number of high-profile events. Thus, the decision to show tape delayed coverag
O decibel nas progagandas de televisão deveriam ser regulado.
Candidatos políticos deviam permitir a mídia entrevistar seus filhos. Obviously, there can be rules agreed upon prior to the interview, but this has absolutely nothing to do with fame or celebrity and protecting the children from that aspect. In fact, that is poor reasoning against this and a typical spin. For example, the
A capa da Revista New Yorker eficiente satiriza Barack and Michelle Obama. It was labeled as a satire right from the get go. Satire is "the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule in exposing, denouncing, or deriding vice, folly." That is exactly what The New Yorker cover did. It also inadvertently unmasked how absurdly "PC" the country
Tim Russert's death did not merit the media coverage it received. Tim Russert was a consummate journalist, head and shoulders above many that grace television news these days. I was always a fan. However, his death was a case in which the media (as has been the problem all primary season and now into the general electio
The American news media did not appropriately handle coverage leading up to the war in Iraq.
Dunkin' Donuts should not have pulled the ad featuring Rachel Ray. Media personalities like Michelle Malkin really need to cool it. Stop picking up the red phone and crying wolf on petty things (and referring to everything that you don't understand as unpatriotic -- knowledge is power; ambivalence to learn is a weakness)
Checkbook journalism is not an acceptable way to pursue news stories. Publications are essentially handing a check to a celebrity or public figure and asking for help creating news. It's not pursuing news... it's faking news.
The Vanity Fair photos featuring Miley Cyrus were appropriate. People need to stop making mountains out of molehills... yes, she's a 15-year-old girl. I get it. Still, there's no actual nudity in the photo, it's merely a simple suggestion of such... and it's only viewed as "sexual" because of peoples' own visual, eye
There should be legal protection for celebrities who are frequent paparazzi targets. Just because someone is famous, doesn't mean he or she should be hounded while purchasing a loaf of bread and a pack of gum...
The Vogue cover featuring LeBron James and Gisele Bundchen is appropriate. As a society, we're becoming too quick to push the race relations "foul" hot-button. One blogger sparked this entire controversy with a comment referring to LeBron's pose as "King Kong"... this blogger is the one who should be deemed racist, for that's wh
O congresso deve passar uma lei para proteger um network na Internet.
Usuários não devem ser responsáveis por comentários em seus blogs feitos por outros. No... unless you're also going to mandate that they sit at their computer staring at the blog 24-7. It would be impossible for them to monitor comments / responses on a real-time basis.
Bloggers should not form a labor union.
O efeito dos blogs na política é positivo. Aside from whether or not they count as good places to read up on the latest news, they (at the least) create another discussion forum for important political issues.
O jogo de azar na Internet deve ser banido.
O uso da internet tem afetado a língua Inglesa
A consolidação afeta a mídia de um modo negativo.
Reality TV tem impacto negativo na programação
The media is politically biased, but both sides balance one another out.
