It is appropriate for the President of the United States to make appearances on late night talk shows. I may be silly, but if a President wants to accept an invitation to appear, more power to them.
Citizen journalism has a positive effect on news reporting. I think that "citizen journalism, of which blogging is a part, really forces the mainstream press to address all sides of any story.
Political candidates should not allow the media to interview their young children. There is an age past which candidates' kids could be interviewed. When they are young, however, they really need to be kept out of the political spotlight.
Advertisements can have artistic value. Yes they can, and some ads really are works of art.
The New Yorker cover featuring Barack and Michelle Obama is effective satire. Oh, it was effective satire, alright. The problem is that liberals in other parts of the country are who is up in arms. They understand that some folks "out here" might take that as mocking Obama in a disapproving way.

The Vanity Fair photos featuring Miley Cyrus were not appropriate. Wrong-just wrong.
XM and Sirius satellite radio should be allowed to merge. There really isn't anything preventing another sattelite radio network from emerging independently.
The Fairness Doctrine should not be reinstated. The so-called "Fairness Doctrine" is nothing more than an excuse to censor people. Why? Rather than waste airtime with "equal time" views that will get poor ratings, stations simply won't air controversial views at all.
Dunkin' Donuts should have pulled the ad featuring Rachel Ray.
The American news media did not appropriately handle coverage leading up to the war in Iraq. The press has done a bad job covering the war all-around, no matter which side of the issue you are on.
Websites should allow anonymous comments. I think anonymous comments should be allowed as an expression of free speech, and I allow them. I do think that people can abuse the priviledge and the webmaster should have some discretion, and should be allowed to censor anonymous comments that make all
Journalists should not reveal the identities of anonymous sources who have misled them. My mind says yes, but my gut says this is a very dangerous, slippery slope.
There should be legal protection for celebrities who are frequent paparazzi targets. "Frequent" needs to be rigidly defined so as not to disparage the freedom of the press.
Bloggers should not be held responsible for comments posted on their blogs by others.
Reality television has had a negative impact on the quality of programming.
Television news should not entertain as well as inform.
Any publisher of leaked information should not always have the right to maintain the confidentiality of his source.
Paparazzi should be required to obtain permission from the people they photograph.
Laws allowing journalists to protect confidential sources should apply to bloggers.
The news media should not cover celebrities' personal lives.
Blogs are credible sources of news.
Congress should not pass legislation to mandate network neutrality on the Internet.
The Internet should not be regulated by one governing body.
Consolidation has a negative effect on the media.
Don Imus' comments regarding the Rutgers women's basketball team do not warrant his termination.
Internet gambling should not be banned.
Blogs have a positive effect on politics.
The media is politically biased and generally leans to the Left.
