The government should not mandate paid parental leave. Just because others do it does not mean that the federal government has the constitutional authority to mandate under what circumstances companies MUST compensate employees.
Schools should teach Intelligent Design as a scientific theory.
Viewing pornography is the equivalent of cheating. I suppose that this depends on what individual couples think. My wife would certainly say that it is.
People should stop using the n-word. It shouldn't be required by law-that is pure censorship! But we should all be intelligent and sensative enough not to use that word.
The government should not allow same-sex couples to adopt children. This could further lead to the decline of the nuclear family in America.
No legal rights should be available for same-sex couples.
Undocumented immigrants should not be granted in-state tuition benefits. If you are "undocumented," this really means that you are in this country illegally. In-State tuition is a privilege that was originally meant for citizens of their State who are legal residents of the United States. Period.
New York should open Central Park for major protests. Free speech, anyone?
Public displays of religious content should be permitted; religion is an important and relevant part of the US and should not be swept under the rug. Apparently, the Left is very much in favor of freedom of expression until religion becomes a part of that expression.
The Pledge of Allegiance should include the phrase "under God," to remind people of the values of the founders. This was the reason the phrase was inserted to begin with.
There is inequality among those in Heaven. Perhaps this should be worded to allow commenters to know that we are speaking in a Christian sense.
Christianity is stagnating. The long-term prognosis of Christianity is very good, with strong growth in the most populous areas of the world. Its decline in the industrialized West leads to the impression that it is in decline. I say that it is "stagnant" because of the lukewarmth o
The government should not regulate marriage. All of you promoters of "gay marriage should remember that if the government doesn't regulate marriage, the government can't issue marriage licenses, either! Neither could judges "marry" people. Essentially, this leaves it up to the churches to determine
Affirmative action is unconstitutional. Affirmative Action is not affirmative. It violates the Constitutional guarantee of equal protection under the law.
Polygamy should not be legal. The very notion that polygamy can equate to stability is contrary to the traditions of Western civilization over the last 2,000 years.
An atheist cannot be spiritual. It is oxymoronic to suggest that an atheist who does not believe in things he or she cannot see can embrace the spiritual world, which is based on that very concept. The atheist who believes that they can be spiritual is not an atheist at all, but is perh
The Catholic Church's position on contraception is correct. Contraception does what the word says-prevents the conception of a child. By its very nature, contraception degrades the procreative act, taking it from the ultimate expression of love between a man and a woman with a lasting social imprint, to an act of
Catholic priests should not be permitted to marry. Those who are so adamant about priests in the Latin Rite marrying either fail to understand the reasons for celibacy in the first place, or have an agenda that reaches beyond married priests. Priests marrying as a rule is but the first step for these folk
Atheism is a religion. The Supreme Cout has defined atheism on numerous occasions as "the religion of secularism."
Belief in Creationism or Intelligent Design (ID) does not contradict the acceptance of evolution. Belief in Intelligent Design merely accepts the notion that there could have been or was a design to the universe. Logic then leads one to the conclusion, based on such a belief, that there was a Designer.
Acceptance of evolution does not deny a belief in God. Acceptance of a scientific theory that explains the means whereby the universe came into being in no way rejects the idea of the existence of a Creator who may have started such a process.
There are legitimate, scientific, and peer-reviewed criticisms of evolution. There are, and when they are brought to bear, it is often the folks with a political agenda in one direction (militant secularism) or another (six-day creationism) that are all-too quick to either dismiss or embrace such criticism.
The legal drinking age should be 18. It has been 18 before...federal pressure made it 21.
Government funding should be available to religious organizations for the purpose of performing a social good. Most often, faith-based groups are more in touch with the needs of their community than some agent of government would be.
Prostitution should be legal. Prostitution is not a crime that harms the general population. It does harm the people involved and it could even destroy families...but people make choices everyday that are bad.
The story of Creation as recorded in Genesis is symbolic. The answer to this question should be insignificant to the reader. How God went about creation is less important than the fact that "God created." We know from the biblical account itself that the world was not created in six 24-hour days. Day and night
Different genders are not treated equally in the workplace.
There is life after death.
The death penalty should be available in cases of child rape. Child rape is one of those situations where the death penalty can legitimately be considered.
Gay public figures do have a responsibility to disclose their sexual orientation. Qualification: ONLY if THEY make an issue of sexual orientation.
The verdict in the Sean Bell case was appropriate. Why should criminals receive greater protection than the law-abiding? Al Sharpton was concerned about an "abortion of justice," but isn't concerned about the abortion of African-American children in the wonb...talk about sending a screwed-up message to p
Salvia divinorum should not be criminalized. I fear we will do to Salvia what we have done to marijuana and create yet another chapter in the drug war.
Faith-based organizations should not pay taxes. For a faith-based organization to be taxed diverts funds from the charitable and spiritual missions of such organizations, and this would further enhance the power of the welfare state.
Feminism is not relevant. Relevant to what?
No-fault divorce should not be available to couples. No-fault divorce has been the bane of family life and a major contributor to the high divorce rate and family breakup in this country.
Mormons are not Christian. Not in the orthodox sense. Mormons could make the claim that they are Christian in the most generic sense, however.
Scientology is a religion. Scientologists seem to think it is a "sort" of religion.
Adultery should not be criminalized. I despise adultery-but enforcing a law against it would be impossible.
The law should not require people to wear seat belts. This is really a matter of choice. Should you wear your seat belt? Yes. Is it the government's place to make you? No
Free will does exist. We all make choices of our own accord.
