Adult stem cells do not have the same medical potential as embryonic stem cells. There has to be a difference.
The U.S. should invest more in its space program. The space program is not something in which the U.S. can afford to fall behind. It's short-sighted to cut funds because in a couple of years when China does something scary, we'll be playing catch-up.
Humans will make contact with intelligent extraterrestrial life. Intelligent... yes... more intelligent than us? Probably not.
There are no alternate universes. I love this issue!!! The answer is NO! It doesn't matter what the physics or math looks like, everything that exists does so in our one universe which is defined as that which encompasses everything....
The Earth is several billion years old. I'm dying to know if there are any of our representatives are "young earthers". They're all "religious", so you would think at least some of them must be right?
Patents should not be issued for living organisms. It took us a long time to accept the idea that it's wrong to own an individual - now we want to be able to own entire species?
Human beings are still evolving. And they'll continue to evolve until they become extinct.
Research published in peer-reviewed scientific journals is reliable. In a comparative sense, absolutely yes! It's the best information available, and nothing else could be more reliable.
Scientists should pursue embryonic stem cell research. I can't see why research is a problem - particularly when there's a ready source of embryonic cells from existing medical procedures to supply researchers. I can see where somebody can complain about a particular production use... but research here is jus
Human cloning should not be allowed.
Psychologists should not be able to prescribe medication.
The U.S. should build more nuclear power plants.
The federal government should subsidize the creation of new stem cell lines.
The US should not intervene with nuclear programs in other countries.
There are legitimate, scientific, and peer-reviewed criticisms of evolution.
There are no legitimate, scientific, and peer-reviewed "alternatives" to evolution.
Saving existing life is more important than protecting potential life.
There is intelligent life on other planets.
The shape of the Earth is round.
Theories that no conceivable experiment can confirm should be rejected outright.
The federal government should decide whether embryonic stem cells may be used for medical research.
