MSNBC is politically biased. Probably a tad to the left, which is fine with me.
The FCC should not strengthen indecency rules regarding broadcast television. The FCC isn't equipped to judge what's "indecent."
The Wall Street Journal should move to a free online model.
Political candidates should not allow the media to interview their young children.
The decibel level of television commercials should be regulated.
Bloggers should be allowed to blog anonymously.
The New Yorker cover featuring Barack and Michelle Obama is effective satire.
Newspaper organizations are necessary to maintain journalistic standards. At least until other news organizations have the budget/staff/experience necessary for far-reaching and in-depth reporting.
Print newspapers will not become obsolete. Not entirely, as long as printing (as we know it) still exists.
Tim Russert's death did merit the media coverage it received. The media regularly indulges in overkill regarding far less worthwhile people.
The U.S. should enact the Free Flow of Information Act.
The American news media did not appropriately handle coverage leading up to the war in Iraq. No, unfortunately. But they've learned not to be so gullible now, right? Right??
Checkbook journalism is not an acceptable way to pursue news stories. Bad idea for many reasons, but mainly it undermines journalistic integrity: Money has a way of distorting the truth.
Dunkin' Donuts should not have pulled the ad featuring Rachel Ray. It's never a good idea to give in to hysteria.
Citizen journalism has a neutral effect on news reporting.
Websites should allow anonymous comments.
Journalists should not reveal the identities of anonymous sources who have misled them.
The Vanity Fair photos featuring Miley Cyrus were not appropriate. Not so much the towel photo, but the one in which she's reclining on her dad's lap. What the...?
There should be legal protection for celebrities who are frequent paparazzi targets.
Vladimir Putin should be Time Magazine's Person of the Year 2007.
The federal government should regulate violence on television.
Current restrictions limiting the concentration of media ownership are not reasonable; there should be greater restriction.
Bloggers should not form a labor union.
Blogs are credible sources of news.
Blogs have a positive effect on politics. The more information out there, the better.
I do not regularly read blogs using an RSS reader.
There should be a blogger code of conduct. Why not? It's just a set of guidelines that websites could choose to adapt, attempting to regulate the most egregious behavior.
The use of the Internet has affected the English language. How could it not?
Congress should pass the Internet Radio Equality Act.
Web sites should not be held legally responsible for user-generated content.
Internet gambling should be banned.
Laws allowing journalists to protect confidential sources should apply to bloggers. Sure, if the bloggers are journalists.
Any publisher of leaked information should not always have the right to maintain the confidentiality of his source. There are exceptions: when lives are at stake, etc.
Paparazzi should be required to obtain permission from the people they photograph. It would sure cut down on the sheer amount of useless celebrity coverage in the media...
The news media should not cover celebrities' personal lives. Celebrity rehab shouldn't compete with the situation in Iraq for airtime or print space.
Television news should not entertain as well as inform.
The Fairness Doctrine should not be reinstated.
The media is politically biased, but both sides balance one another out. I actually have no idea exactly how many media outlets are right-biased and how many are left-biased, so I'll assume they cancel each other out..
The FCC should not relax its media ownership rules.
Bloggers should not be held responsible for comments posted on their blogs by others.
