Animals do have souls. Spend 5 minutes with them, offering them the kindness you've been taught---and then--ask yourself the SAME question. They're the litmus tests for your soul. If cats or dogs hate you, it's over.
Women should be required to receive postpartum depression screenings after every birth. Now that we know the risks we need to increase awareness and help both parents understand the potential dangers of the postpartum phase.
Healthcare reform should include a government-sponsored health insurance option. It's a fucking disgrace that in this country we even need to "debate" this basic humanitarian issue; but then again we also practice social aparteid of gays and lesbians. shameful, USA!
People should not use the Internet for self-diagnosis. Your conclusion will not be the same as someone who spent 5 semesters studying medicine,4 semesters in clinicals and years in residency & having to pass a series of brutal exams. trust.
Should health insurance providers be required to cover pneumonia vaccinations.
Pneumonia is contagious.
The government should subsidize pneumonia vaccinations for seniors.
Second-hand smoke does increase your risk of getting pneumonia. Yet another reason we need child-abuse legislation to protect children against deranged parents who smoke in their houses killing their own children.
Adding zinc to your diet does help prevent pneumonia. studies seem to demonstrate this.
Pneumonia vaccinations are effective. Pneumonia vaccines are the greatest unknown weapon against child mortality.
There are no persuasive reasons not to inoculate children with pneumonia vaccines. Children are like rats, they spread disease. Dip and shoot them with vaccinations. It's not rocket science.
Face masks help prevent the spread of pneumonia. They certainly can't hurt. To be completely honest, if I don;t have a bottle of bleach or Fantastic laying around and I'm in an environment with respz I'll DEF be wearing a mask-AND gloves.
Children diagnosed with pneumonia should be required to receive medical clearance before they can return to school. Pneumonia is a child killer, and yes, children especially need to be cleared by a doctor before being reintroduced into a school.
Public schools should administer pneumonia vaccinations.
There should be limits on the amount of damages awarded in medical malpractice suits. When doctors are terrified to touch you because they don't want to be sued, it's all of our problem. I'm not talking gross incompetence I'm talking misdiagnosis or educated mistakes. Let doctors be human.
The "World Pneumonia Day" campaign will not help decrease pneumonia rates. I've worked on these kinds of boondoggles before and it helps everyone BUT the intended populations. The pharmas look like benevolent caregivers and celebrities get to look like Mother Theresa while getting a free trip and pocket $$ and the ill still get ill. Nothing changes.
Medical personnel diagnosed with pneumonia should be required to take a mandatory leave of absence while undergoing treatment. I think this would help reduce the transmission of Hospital Acquired Pneumonia which can be more of a pain than the ailment that required hospital treatment.
I would consider non-pharmaceutical treatments if diagnosed with pneumonia. I would give Vitamin C, Zinc, garlic broth, tons of rest & water, steam sweats and a humidifier a try before I visited a doctor.
Drinking in moderation is not a viable treatment for alcoholism. Eventually though it will need to stop, and it's the high relapse rate that makes the treatment unsustainable.
Media coverage of the swine flu outbreak has not been overblown. How fortunate we are to accuse the press and the health industry of being inflammatory. It's amazing how ignorant people are of how deadly the flu virus is to the human race. 1918, anyone? anyone?
The outbreak of the influenza virus (Swine flu) in Mexico will become an international pandemic. It already looks this way, it's a hybrid of four flu viruses from three species with a track record of killing the healthiest of our species-and we know so little. This is not a promising prognosis.
The U.S. is prepared for a flu pandemic. A lot was learned from the Avian outbreak. I'm impressed with the fact that the US has basically taken all possible precautions it can in preparing for something this potentially catastrophic.
Habitual consumption of alcohol is worse on one's personal health than habitual consumption of marijuana. The two are non-comparators. Alcohol is in fact a known and WELL documented hepatic toxin. Cannabis on the other hand can be a life saver, especially for those with cancer or AIDS.
Plan B should be available over-the-counter to women under the age of 18. I applaud Judge Korman's scathing ruling and it's yet again another repudiation of the Republican/Bush administration's abysmal management of our healthcare.
Purchasing pharmaceuticals online is not safe. There's a fairly large chance that you are buying something that is fake or expired product or worse. ALWAYS purchase from a pharmacy you can physically visit (and inspect). Common sense.
Medicaid coverage should be provided for low-income individuals infected with HIV. This will advance developing a comprehensive National HIV/AIDS strategy. This will also deliver an access channel for many populations struggling with near epidemic levels of HIV infection.
Meditation does improve your health. Lowers your blood pressure, can reduce anxiety, can reduce anger, increases oxygen flow to the brain with the heavy and rhythmic breathing. Everyone should meditate.
There is a link between sexual behavior and depression. Absolutely, sex won't fill the void. Behave like a slut and don't be surprised when people treat you like trash. Respect yourself b/c that's how you teach others to respect you.
Life is fundamentally precious because of its potential.
Healthcare reform is directly related to improving the U.S. economy. health is wealth.
The size of a man's penis does affect his level of confidence. Any size has its pluses and minuses, until a man knows how to work what he's got he'll be a flop in bed with ZERO confidence outside of bed.
Suicidal behavior is genetic. Absolutely. Suicide is the culmination of toxic brain chemistry; what strikes one family member can strike others. It's an especially cruel affliction for any family to bear.
Pope Benedict's comments about condoms increasing the problem of AIDS in Africa were not accurate. His comments were reckless and yet another example of how this out-of-touch Pope is driving out 'suburban' Catholics who are increasingly dismayed by the direction of the Catholic order.
Organic food does not provide more nutritional value than conventionally grown food. No more nutritional value, but a LESS toxic load per pound including excess nitrogen, pesticides and carbon monoxide. (especially if the organic is local)
Organic food is safer than conventionally grown food. Yes, I think if your soil is tested and safe and you do it yourself with organic compost, then you know exactly what you're getting--much safer, maybe slightly nibbled-but it's safe.
Scientists will find a vaccine for the common cold. They have found an achilles heel that's common to most flu viruses, hopefully the same can be said of the cold virus..and hopefully this will give way to even greater threats like HIV, Ebola and Marburg.
All-natural hygienic products are effective. The key ingredients to hygiene are access to clean water and some sort of exfoliant & surfactant combo. Unless you have chronic issues like psoriasis or eczema, "all natural" are plenty effective and probably less toxic.
Health insurance should cover laser eye surgery. What good is it to have people with poor vision? The benefit outweighs the cost.
Men have a stronger sex drive than women. It's in the testosterone; it effects both men and women but men have much higher concentrations that induces a chronic cycle of sexual desire until our T drops.
Children diagnosed with depression should not be treated with medication. I'm so torn on this. A child's brain is constantly developing; I would advocate aggressive individual and family therapy and save drugs as a measure of dire last resort NOT first line treatment.
