Parents do not have an obligation to pay for their children's college. It should be an option . . personally I believe that higher education is more meaningful to the child if he/she is paying for it themselves.
K through 12 education should not be separated by gender.
Schools should practice social promotion.
Meditation should be incorporated into education.
Teachers should not receive performance-based merit pay. Teaching should be one of the highest paying professions in the country . . what's more important; educating our youth or slam dunking a basketball? Raise their salaries; make the market highly competitive; and weed out those who can't teach.
The federal government should not guarantee sufficient financial aid for every college student. College is not the right path for everyone and to "guarantee" a college education to "every" student is not prudent. Admission standards must be maintained, and for those students meeting those standards, the government should provide a college education to those worthy students. Here's an idea to start us down that path . . any and all federal funds allocated for scholarships and student loans could be apportioned to "state" universities and eventually a college education becomes an extension of the public school system.
All-day kindergarten should not be mandatory. and provided by public schools

Public schools should be funded through income tax. I paid taxes on the income I use to pay for my property. If you are going to tax my income, we're done. Taxing me for ANYTHING else is double taxation.
A school should not have the right to require that a student take Ritalin or similar drugs.

The public school systems in America would not be improved if they were federalized.
I rate America's education system "Unsatisfactory."
The No Child Left Behind Act should not be reauthorized.
Schools should not punish students for not reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
States should not be forced to fund the federally mandated No Child Left Behind Act.
The federal government should increase higher education subsidies for low-income students. The theory is to level the playing field. A person's intellect and their potential to benefit society should not be stifled by their economic position.
