第三者の検証なしにオンラインでアパートを借りることに安心できる。 I never rely on third-party verification for apartment rentals, I verify it myself. When I find out about an apartment that's up for rent, I go to the apartment, check it out, talk to the landlord, and read the entire lease agreement before I sign anything. Just like anything else in the world, apartment rental is a case of "let the buyer beware." Just use common sense.
不良資産を買い取るガイトナー財務長官の官民共同ファンドは経済システムの安定に役立たないだろう。 It will SOCIALIZE it. Is that the kind of "stability" you want? Look at Amtrak. The government took full ownership of that company during the Nixon Administration, with the promise that it would be sold off in just a couple years, once it is profitable. Today, the government still owns Amtrak, and still operates it at a considerable loss. Is that stability?
米ドルは世界の準備通貨であるべきではない。 It should be the American currency, with an agreed-upon exchange rate with other nations, but that's it. It should not be used in its current form, which is fiat. We need to return to the gold standard of currency - the one JFK tried to bring us back to before he was murdered. Gold and silver should be the "currency."
オバマ政権がゼネラル・モーターズ社のCEOリック・ワゴナーを辞任させたのは適切ではなかった。 The federal government has no business sticking its nose into the affairs of a private corporation, unless that corporation has infringed upon the rights of others. The government does not have the right to make personnel decisions for private companies.
Congress should not follow "pay as you go" budget rules. They should follow Constitutional budget rules. The PAYGO language is deceiving. The definition of "savings" is too vague to enforce. He claims that he "saved" 800+ jobs, because in the TARP deal, he was able to find 800+ people who didn't get laid off. It's a game of semantics, which means the PAYGO proposal would ultimately change nothing.
米国の失業率は2009年に二桁になるだろう。 It already has, and it will continue to increase. As long as our government continues to socialize our major industries, poverty will continue to increase even if the unemployment rate drops (by some inexplicable miracle), because we will have little to no recourse to negotiate livable wages or salaries for our work.
AIGボーナス90%課税法案は合法的である。 Show me the part of the constitution that says otherwise.
議会はシステミックリスクをもたらすノンバンクの金融機関を財務省が引き継ぐことを許可するべきではない。 A gov't takeover of the private sector is Socialism defined, and we're watching it happen; buying into their rationalization for it, just as the citizens of the former Soviet Republics did during the Communist Revolution. History is repeating itself. Pay attention!
オバマ政権の自動車救済の対応には満足できない。 He's forcing Chrysler to merge (and give control to) a German company. We don't have enough American manufacturing jobs as it is, and the terms he's pushing for are costing even more jobs. How is that helping the economy??
There should not be a global financial regulatory system. This is a giant step towards one-world government. No nation should be forced to surrender their sovereignty to some outside entity. Also, Obama gave the World Bank $1 trillion recently, and we've seen no benefit from that at all!
マリファナの合法化は経済に肯定的影響をもたらすだろう。 It has other uses besides getting high. It can be used to make paper, cloth, canvas, lube, paint base, chicken feed, rope, and much more. Hemp paper would be easier on the env't, since we'd be chopping down fewer trees. It's also a fast-growing cash crop.
The United Auto Workers (UAW) union should agree to cut wages. Provided the executives of those auto companies also agree to a salary cut. A lot of the layoffs at GM came about because of union greed (which led to the strike). Everyone wants a pay raise, but at some point you have to recognize the difference between need and greed.
The U.S. government should try to recoup AIG bonuses. A good portion of these "retention" bonuses were paid to people who no longer work for the company! So what exactly were the payments for? The contract that Senator Dodd referred to (for those former employees who received bonuses) became null and void when their employment with AIG was terminated. As for the rest, a bonus is a reward for a job well done, and that is obviously not the case here.
Microsoft's retail stores will have neutral impact on its business model. Overall, I think it's a dumb idea.
議会は7870億ドルの景気刺激策を可決するべきではなかった。 Not as is. I'm glad the "Buy American" clause was in there, but there are too many loopholes that can be easily exploited by the wealthiest 5% of the country. I see it as largely a government ripoff.
The Glass-Steagall Act should be reinstated. Repealing it is what made the Savings and Loan scandal possible during the Reagan administration, as well as the current housing crash. Along with reinstating the Act, we should return to the Gold Standard for our currency, instead of relying solely on "f
Microsoft retail stores will effectively compete with Apple. Probably - they're certainly big enough to do so.
Family planning services have a negative impact on the economy. It's basically a way of funneling money towards organizations that specialize in killing babies. Yes, I am referring to Planned Parenthood, among others.
The recession is an indicator that government regulation has a positive impact on the economy. Deregulation is what allowed this whole mess to start in the first place. You would think we would have learned our lesson after the Savings and Loan scandal during the Reagan administration - one that started with the massive deregulation of the Savings
Suze Orman does not provide helpful financial advice. Hasn't helped me any.
Commercial airlines should serve peanuts. If they want to. If you're allergic to peanuts, don't eat them.
Fractional reserve banking should not be abolished. Banks should consider changing that fraction, so they don't overextend themselves. They do need to protect themselves against a run on the bank.
The U.S. economic recovery package will not lead to GDP growth. The only thing that will lead to an increase in our GDP is legislation that will encourage corporations to use more American raw materials (of which we have an overwhelming abundance) and more American labor, instead of having both coming from (and being
Cell phone use should be permitted in-flight. Airport security has gone too far with their paranoia, and I am saying this as a security guard myself. Stop demonizing cell phones!
Pepsi's new logo is worse. It's really not much different, but I like the old one better.
Governments should not nationalize insolvent banks in response to the financial crisis. One word: socialism. This action would mean government ownership of our banks, something the founders were very strongly against.
Required qualifications should determine the pay rate for a given job. It doesn't take a great deal of valuable and unique skill to mop a floor or put cans of peas on a shelf. I would, however, put a higher price tag on a position that requires either specialized skill, or great risk to the person's life or personal safety.
Congress should not implement a payroll tax holiday in light of the recession. How long would such a "holiday" last? Why not just stick with the more visible stimulus, like the checks Bush mailed out? The so-called "holiday" would create a nightmare crazy-quilt for all the paper pushers at the IRS in calculating everyone's new tax l
Unemployment insurance should not be expanded to cover part-time workers. A part-time employee is either working a second job for extra money, a minor, or a homemaker earning an extra income while the kids are in school. Part-time work is never enough, on its own, to pay all living expenses, and is not intended to be such. It's
The economic stimulus plan should include a 'Buy American' provision. The only way we're going to stimulate the American economy is to put Americans back to work. That means bringing the means of production back to America, using American resources (of which we have plenty, despite what certain tycoons might tell you). That
The government should regulate salaries of companies who have received bailout funds. Absolutely! A single executive at GM makes as much money in salary ALONE as 50 of the employees under him. They EACH make more than $1 million per year in just salary (not including bonuses and stock options, which brought the 2007 total up into the $20 m
Pepsi makes a better tasting cola than Coke.
Apple can be as successful without Steve Jobs at the helm.
Foreclosures should have the highest priority for the remaining $350 billion spent in financial bailout funds. It was the foreclosure crisis that started this whole mess in the first place. I agree that consumers deserve to get some of their tax money back for bailing out the fat cats, but I think the people who were swindled by lenders like AmeriQuest into accept
It is not appropriate to market VitaminWater as a healthy alternative to soft drinks. I don't think it's any different from Gatorade. It's basically sugar water, so the name is definitely misleading. Then again, Coke has misled people before, starting with a "healthier" soda called "Diet" that is actually worse for you than the regular stu
The SEC should strengthen regulations on short selling.
Dunkin' Donuts brews a better-tasting coffee than Starbucks. I like coffee-flavored coffee. When I ask for coffee, I don't want to have to tell the cashier what kind. I just want coffee.
Firms seeking assistance should under the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) should be required to raise private capital first. At least make the effort. When you apply for welfare, you're required to first prove that you have no significant assets, and you're required to make an honest effort to find a job. I don't see this as any different.
Congress should enact the Employee Free Choice Act. Normal anti-union propaganda loves to blame union greed for the higher prices on goods and services (particularly the union at GM). But GM is an interesting example of how corporate executive greed often goes well beyond that of the unions. Consider: the
I rate Jim Cramer's stock picks on Mad Money, "Unsatisfactory." He's just another talking head, just like Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh. I wouldn't follow his advice any more than I'd go to Dr. Phil for counseling.
