So far it is, but I don't think the final chapter is even close to finished when it comes to online search. Google is an innovator and has made tremendous leaps and bounds but it's clearly a company very much focused on many other things so a new player, intent just on search once again like Google was initially, could make just as many leaps and bounds.

Wikipedia is handy and neat but I would always fact check and verify any data reference or tidbit culled from its pages because of its open nature.
