I do not read print newspapers.
I participate in online surveys. Sometimes, for fledgling small companies that ask me so I can help out with their research, or when I get bad customer support and have to review the person...
I am always astonished by the fact that someone so mentally deranged could exist and be a prominent figure on primetime TV. Admittedly seeing him makes me nauseous and want to stab my eyes out, but, well, you know...
Twitter is a fad. I used to be really into forums. Web communities tend to explode and then bust. "The faster they rise, the harder they fall" rings very true. The biggest problem with Twitter is that there are no binding threads of discussion, plus there's not enough incentive to Tweet. It's going to get old. In fact, it is already getting old. Though I think as a sounding board for microblogging or giving out blurbs of information, it might stay around for a while. But as the users decrease, however, its value will also decrease, and people will stop doing even that as well.
Most celebrities and public figures are liberal, including movie stars and the like. You generally have to be, because if you're more of a pragmatist and less of an idealist your ratings won't increase as much. People want to dream, people want to have hope. People want compassion and caring. Didn't stop GWB from being elected for two terms though. I think people are inherently conservative and want to be liberal. Fox News is probably the only outlet you can name as hardcore conservative, that and uh, Rush Limbaugh's radio show. But look at all the movie stars who spoke out against the war, spoke out against Bush, all the musicians who also spoke out against Bush, like Maynard and NIN. Public figures who lobbied for Obama as opposed to Palin and McCain. Turn on Comedy Central and watch Jon Stewart and you get more liberal. Not that it's a bad thing of course. There are people with money who are compassionate and empathetic, and there are people with money who are spiteful and unsympathetic. I think generally people who are mean are just unhappy people and need a hug.

Laws and government are too varied throughout the world for something like this to work. The Internet shouldn't be regulated to begin with anyways; it should stay the free medium it is (for the most part, certainly not in some countries...) today.
Instead of the typical corporate-driven drivel on the television you get normal, real people giving perspectives on events. Good stuff. Isn't that what journalism is supposed to be all about anyways?
zomfg wtf lol ur saying wat????
Yup, you know I just gave my bank account info to this great guy in Africa saying I get a part of his inheritance by next year after he borrows a hundred thousand dollars!
Yes. Bloggers tend to be biased and don't have accountability, in terms of reliability. Not to say that bloggers aren't reliable of course.
I share Mr. Yantiss' sentiments. It's going to get old. I remember back in the day when having a Geocities account or an AOL account was a big deal. Stuff wore off. Life goes on.
Twitter promotes narcissism.
Online news should be free.
Given Delonas' background it's a convenient excuse to justify something that is morally objectionable. I'll switch stands on this one...
For-profit media has a negative impact on journalism. If something is for-profit then it's not for-information or for-news now is it, lol. Voice of the people v. Voice of the corporations
NBC should not have rejected PETA's Super Bowl advertisement. Oh come on, worse ads have been aired on TV. If they're willing to pay for the spot give it to them. It's not like it had full frontal nudity or something.
American news media coverage of the Gaza Crisis has been fair.
The government should not provide financial assistance to the print journalism industry. In our current economic crisis, why would you spend taxpayer dollars on technology that's eventually being phased out?

Social networking sites have no effect on one's ability to make connections in person. I think the Internet has transformed from its once "elite", niche era of computer-oriented people, to a mass consumer item where electronic communication is fused with contemporary interaction.
Hulu merits a higher valuation than YouTube. Hulu. it's backed by the entertainment industry and has more licensing leverage and experience than YouTube does. It's like questioning the success of the Playstation 3 for those who look at it from the industry perspective of BDHD dominance and licensing
Fox News is not "fair and balanced." Obviously having viewers from across the political spectrum means that it's fair and balanced, not that it's typical consumer pleasing entertainment.
It wouldn't be news if it were entertainment, now would it? It's called greying the line between fact and fiction.
Michelle Obama dresses better than Cindy McCain. ...lol
If you don't want to watch it, watch something else. Seeing violence on TV is psychologically less of a role model, but more of an outlet for the inner violence that may be in some of us.
The New Yorker cover featuring Barack and Michelle Obama is effective satire. It most certainly is effective satire. But it also most certainly is detrimental, negative, and will hurt the Obamas, and will do nothing but re-affirm the un-based and irrational fears that people already have. People need to learn to separate their emot
