Exclusive sales agreements between service providers and handset makers are anti-competitive.
I would prefer a laptop with a touchscreen interface. As long as operating system interfaces are redesigned to be intuitive to a touch-interface as opposed to being a mouse-based interface. Things should "grabbable" and "tappable". The level of technology we really need to get to, however, is table PCs.
'Bing' is a good name for a search engine. Certainly better than "Yahoo!". It's also kinda Web 2.0-y in the semi-hip short buzzwordy sense.
Firefox is the best web browser. It's a resource leech, it lags if you have too many tabs, it lags if you have too many tabs and later closed them, it lags if you leave it on too long, it has memory leaks, it crashes randomly, it's slow sometimes, and it irritates me more often than not. Plus, the JavaScript handling engine is nowhere near as efficient as WebKit (Safari's and Chrome's engine) At the same time, it's fast enough, it doesn't feel like a clunky broken thing like IE, and the extensions created for it are priceless. Built-in keyword search is great, mouse gestures are wonderful, Firebug and YSlow are gems, as well as Web Developer, the RSS feeds work exactly the way I want them to, and I can't really use any other browser.
I would not switch cell phone carriers for wireless phone charging. I uh.. wasn't aware that not having to plug something into a wall before you go to bed was such a uh, compelling reason to switch carriers. People must have reached a new epitome of laziness.
The ease of use was the deciding factor in my most recent purchase of a portable media player. I dunno, that weird wheel thing makes it really easy to navigate the thing. I don't feel the cumbersome feeling of drilling through menus and the interface feels clean and smooth but not static and barren like Google. Oddly the DRM doesn't bother me. I like my iPod. I upgraded after my old one slipped under my chair *coughs* because the iPod rocked, but I had initially bought it because of brand.
