Twitter is not a fad. Blogging was a fad, too, right?
Facebook will not reach 1 billion users. As much as Facebook can still grow internationally, I just can't get my head around 1 billion. I mean, 1/6th of the world population using Facebook? Man, I hope not.
I do not read print newspapers. Paper is gross, ink is nasty and it's not very up-to-date for a news junkie like myself.
I do not participate in online surveys.
I prefer Twitter to Facebook. Quickly connects me to information I'm actually interested in and never would have seen reading 8 different news sites a day.
The government should not provide financial assistance to the print journalism industry.
Brian Williams is the evening network news anchor I trust most.
Fox News has almost double the amount of prime time viewers than MSNBC, CNN, CNBC and Headline News combined. Don't forget 90% of Fox viewers voted for McCain so if they are really fair and balanced McCain was really the greatest presidential candidate of all-time. Heh.
TechCrunch should not have published internal Twitter documents leaked to them by a hacker.
Newspaper organizations are not necessary to maintain journalistic standards. It seems outlandish to assume journalism will die along with newspapers. The industry is evolving rapidly right now.
Facebook merits a higher valuation than MySpace.
It's obnoxious they're still wasting trees and money printing the news. I've read the delivery costs for the NY Times is probably over $700 million a year. Ridiculous.
Don't think I'll be using the Erotic Services anytime soon, though.
I thought he did a good job of explaining what was going on with the banks and why it's going to be difficult to deal with. I imagine some people who are confused and angry were a little reassured. Don't see much downside because arguments that he was diminishing the office or that he's not paying enough attention to the economy aren't really serious arguments.
There's really not much you can say about the clips he showed and the arguments he made against CNBC's.
Hah. No. News is really entertainment in disguise and Jon Stewart is entertainment disguised as news. What's happening here?
An actual conservative and not a right wing or neoconservative/Fox News commentator getting to argue the conservative point of view on critical issues is a good thing for the country.
Twitter does not promote narcissism.
If they're smart they will and I think they're pretty smart. It's a good opportunity for Google to swoop in on the real-time search wave. Since the talk now is how facebook is trying to counter Twitter with their new homepage design, and Microsoft is invested in facebook, look for Google to get involved. They gobbled YouTube when it was the fastest growing site and it now gets more searches than Google's next competitor Yahoo. Now Twitter is the fastest growing site...watch out!
MSNBC is politically biased. Their late night opinionated programming is left leaning. I have never seen their news coverage during the day so it's a little unfair to paint the entire network as liberally biased. Their special event news coverage is usually dominated by their late night talking heads so I would say overall they still lean left.
NBC should have rejected PETA's Super Bowl advertisement. Well, the commercial is ridiculously "Over the Top" like a Sly Stallone flick so I don't blame NBC for rejecting it. Clearly, PETA was looking to stir the pot and get some solid press out of it. Point, PETA! It makes a solid point, though, why do beer ads
Newspapers should be publicly financed. For-profit media is destroying our democracy and it's sinking the newspaper industry like a stone. Enough.
American news media coverage of the Gaza Crisis has been fair. Hard to say, I've really only followed the crisis online, via journalists who refuse to oversimplify the conflict, like most. From the little coverage I've seen on T.V. it seems like forces for both sides are balancing each other out. Again, not confident
Fox News is not "fair and balanced." Fox News was created to combat the "liberal media." The "fair and balanced" tag is a nice disguise but it's about as true as CNN saying they have the "best political team on television." Sillyness. In 2004, 42% of registered voters were Democrats vs. 32%
The new Facebook user interface is better than the old. Wow. The new interface is glorious! I don't know what everyone is bitching about. Well, I've never spent too much time on Facebook so take my opinion for what it's worth. Not much.
NBC's coverage of the 2008 Olympic Games was not satisfactory. Well, for Michael Phelps the coverage was quite excellent. Overall, I guess it was mediocre, and that's not acceptable considering the games are once every four years.
The New Yorker cover featuring Barack and Michelle Obama is not effective satire. There was too much confusion to consider it effective, hence the media uproar. It only propagates the lies and rumors that are out there hurting Obama's candidacy in my judgment. Because of the media uproar the focus was on the Muslim rumors, regardless o
Tim Russert's death did merit the media coverage it received. Sure, he was one of the biggest and most respected names in our media. This was a major shock to everyone and considering he was so young and at the peak of his career, I think this tragedy did merit the coverage. Plus, most of the coverage was on NBC and
Very disappointed to see the Double D gave into pressure from silly right-wing bloggers. They honestly pulled an ad because of a scarf that looked too Arab? Shameful. Their coffee is so good though. Rats.
The media did a great job of drinking Dubya's Kool-Aid, didn't they? They are in fact a bigger threat to America's security than Iraq ever was or will be.
