Mark Sanford should resign as governor of South Carolina. Not because he had an affair and broke his marriage vows which is irrelevant. Rather it is because he left the state without coverage and no way to find him. Had there been a disaster that required leadership he was no where to be found.
Sarah Palin should not pursue political office again. She should retire to an iceberg and stop embarrassing herself and others.
All troops should be removed from Iraq at the end of President Obama's 19-month timetable. Shouldn't have been there in the first place. Shouldn't take that long to get them out, but at a minimum get them out by then.
The economic policies of the Obama Administration will not lead the U.S. towards socialism.
Timothy Geithner should not remain Secretary of the Treasury. He is a Wall Street insider who will never take a stand against his "buddies". There are plenty of qualified people who would better serve this country, find them. Stop with the recycle of previous administration has beens, stop with insiders. REFORM REFORM REFORM ... that was the platform and the promise, perhaps the POTUS should listen to some of his campaign speeches.
Israel should withdraw from the Golan Heights as part of a peace agreement with Syria.
President Obama's national security policies are having no effect on the threat of terrorist attacks in the U.S.
A world free of nuclear weapons is achievable.
Congress should investigate the Bush Administration's interrogation policies. Again...MAN UP
The Department of Justice should prosecute CIA officials who carried out Bush Administration interrogation methods. Following illegal orders is not a defense! Prosecute them and those that gave them the orders all the way to the very top.
President Obama's first 100 days were unsatisfactory. MAN UP. I didn't vote for you so that you and the majority in the legislature could cowtow to the minority party. Get some passion for the issues! Fight back! Mow them down and expose them for what they are....liars, bully's, cheats, and charlatans. If you don't then we won't have the majority for long and you will be a one term President because great rhetoric won't get you elected to a second term.
President Obama should not release new photos depicting U.S. detainee abuse. There isn't really any purpose in releasing them. What does it serve other than to inflame? I don't care to see the pictures, we know it happened. Unless those who approved the acts, up to and including Bush; and those who committed the acts are going to be prosecuted, really what is the point?
Guantanamo Bay detainees should be moved to U.S. prisons. Really, what is the issue when was the last time anyone escaped?
Infidelity should not be grounds for a politician's removal from office. Silly and stupid moralists. Politicians don't take priestly vows they take an oath of office which has nothing whatsoever to do with their private lives or personal conduct. Americans really need to get out of other peoples bedrooms and focus more on the issues of reform, lobby's in Washington buying a seat at the table, Temporary Worker programs taking jobs from Americans, education for all Americans, and host of other issues that are relevant rather than who is bumping uglies.
The Israeli/Palestinian peace process would not be more effective without the intervention of foreign nations. But it is unfortunate that the US stance has always been more of a Biblical / guilt stance rather than a moral / ethical and political stance.
The Republican Party should try to rebrand itself. The issue of rebranding is interesting though they would first have to offer the public a new face, a new policy statement, a new direction. Thus far the tired old garbage they are rolling out including Shooter Cheney, Rush, and others are doing far more harm than good.
Elected officials should be allowed to change their political affiliation between elections. Elected officials remain members of society with free will and all the rights provided for by their citizenship barring criminal conviction.
The coalition forces' military action in Afghanistan has not been successful.
The Obama Administration should not issue a statement of support to the Iranian election uprising. When will we learn? We are not the keepers of the world light! We need to take care of the home front and we have a great deal to take care of here. Stop trying to fix what a wrong with the world at large, fix what is wrong with the good ole USA!
People convicted of felonies should have voting rights. Once they have served their time including all parole time and any and all victim compensation requirements have been met their full citizen rights should be restored.
Eliot Spitzer should run for public office again. Don't really care. His "crime" was a personal matter as far as I am concerned and did not affect his ability to perform his job. If he can run and be elected, why not?
Memos about CIA torture techniques should have been released by the Obama Administration.
Private sellers at gun shows should be required to do background checks.
Vacant U.S. Senate seats should be filled by popular election.
Arlen Specter's switch to the Democratic Party will have no effect on his reelection campaign. He regularly switches sides in his position, taking expedient positions rather that party line positions. I don't believe the change in parties will change voter opinion of him one iota.
The U.S. should not negotiate with the Taliban.
The U.S. cannot stabilize Afghanistan.
Kathleen Sebelius is a good choice for Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Social Security should not include private retirement accounts.
The Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act is not constitutional.
Welfare recipients should be drug tested.
The government should not regulate population growth.
Israel should negotiate with Hamas. Hamas were duly elected and thus are the political party in control.
Governor Blagojevich should not have been arrested on conspiracy and bribery charges. Only if there is enough to arrest him for. I have got to believe if the evidence is there his arrest would be forthcoming.
Israel should officially confirm whether or not they have nuclear weapons.
Judd Gregg's withdrawal will have no effect on the Obama Administration. Long term no effect. Short term it was a bit of a black eye.
Barack Obama has not led the debate on the economic stimulus package effectively. He waited to long to take it to the people and the court of public opinion.
The ban on taking pictures of flag-draped coffins returning from war should be overturned. It isn't often I agree with the Senator but in this case I in part do, we should know and acknowledge our fallen. The one caveat I would impose is the family should have a say.
Congress should not pass President Obama's $819 billion stimulus package. The plan continues to be problematic with earmarks and special "favors" to garner Republican votes. It is unfortunate that Obama can't simply bring in some outsiders to craft the right Bill, which I suspect would be much smaller and more effective.
The United States' decision to drop atomic bombs on Japan in World War II was justified.
