A Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree does not merit the cost. In a way I suppose it does since having one pushes your salary up, but I'd still go with no.
Cutting corporate tax rates is not an effective method of creating jobs. Perhaps for the manufacturers of private jets.
The U.S. should not bar the sale of major American corporations to China. Why? Because we are threatened by the "Rise of China". Isn't it better than these companies going under?
Ben Bernanke should not resign as chairman of the Federal Reserve. Please! Bernanke is a renowned economist and the economy isn't going to get any better w/ anyone else running it. People need to stop criticizing and realize that economic hard times are the result of decades of policy not days.
The New Deal shortened the Great Depression. Definitely shortened though my concern is why we are so focused on the Great Depression. I mean, I understand it is the only comparably horrible period of economic well being for our country, but the markets, industry and the world is so different. I think it's a waste of time--economists still argue about the causes of the great depression....lets deal w/ this one.
Congress should tax AIG bonuses. I actually think this was a great "in your face" move. There is no way, I don't care what was signed at the time, that these executives should get those bonuses.
The U.S. unemployment rate will reach double digits in 2009. I wouldn't be surprised...
JetBlue is the low-cost U.S. airline I prefer to fly with. JetBlue is the best! If you book early enough, you get great fares. True, the web fares on SW are sometimes unbeatable but the service (and the tv for those who like television) on JB are unbeatable.
The government should provide financial assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure.
The $787 billion stimulus bill is satisfactory.
The U.S. should provide tax breaks for businesses that do not outsource.
Governments should nationalize insolvent banks in response to the financial crisis. If you read any objective article on the issue, you can see that what everyone is calling "nationalization" is a temporary relief to a system with no other choice.
Congress should have passed the $787 billion stimulus bill. Probably should have made it even higher. At this point, 787 billion is basically nothing--its not like Obama created these problems, but he does have the potential to fix them.
Recessions are not necessary for sustained economic growth.
Bush Administration policies have had a negative impact on the economy.
Globalization will ultimately benefit countries that are not part of the "first world."
Tobacco companies should not be liable for smoke-related health problems.
Coke makes a better tasting cola than Pepsi.
The U.S. is undergoing the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.
The federal government is most responsible for the current financial crisis.
The federal government's financial bailout package will not help stabilize the U.S. economy. Maybe temporarily
Congress should increase the cap on federally insured bank deposits.
The economic benefits of a weak U.S. dollar do not outweigh the costs.
Globalization ultimately will benefit America.
Congress should increase the federal minimum wage.
Unions should be permitted to strike.
