gethro "Noise" should be recognized as a music genre. I recently spent a lot of time listening to elements of noise while traveling with my cousin (check him out at myspace.com/paddyreagansounds) and just like any genre, there are degrees and extremes and the fringe sounds get the most attention and, hence, criticism.
