Standardized tests are an effective tool for measuring student learning.
Parents do not have an obligation to pay for their children's college. Can the majority of households even afford this "obligation." And if they could, the last thing young generations need is another freebie hand-out.
Teachers should receive performance-based merit pay. @BarackObama and @ArneDuncan have established this debate by repeatedly contending that talent in the classroom is the most critical resource for children's education. I agree. The logical progression from this argument is a move toward merit pay.
