Firefox is the best web browser. Prior to 2005, I used Internet Explorer for all of my browsing. I don't love the Safari interface. However, Firefox rarely disappoints and doesn't drastically overhaul their interface during upgrades. Not to mention, other browsers are now trying to copy features first made available to users through Firefox.
The brand was the deciding factor in my most recent purchase of a portable media player. My previous player was a 2nd generation iPod. Unfortunately, it was left on an airplane and likely stolen rather than returned to the airline. I waited a bit before simply upgrading to a newer iPod model.
Wikipedia is more reliable than a traditional encyclopedia.
Google is the best search engine.
"Bing" will not increase Microsoft's search engine market share. Immediate shifts in market share (meaning up to a month after release) do not count in my book as 'market share' needs to be measured with some consistency. I believe most people who shift from Google will return to that search engine after testing 'Bing'.
I would not read books on a portable electronic device. I enjoy turning the pages with that visual sense of accomplishment. I'm also tired of staring at screens for everything. Why must electronic devices be required for basic tasks?
Sega Genesis was a better 16-bit video game console than Super Nintendo. This is a tough one cause I love both systems... but I guess Sega Genesis gets the edge.
Nintendo Wii is the best seventh-generation video game console.
Mark Zuckerberg should not be replaced as CEO of Facebook. If it ain't broke [or until it is], don't fix it.
whereIstand.org peut avoir du succès. This is an ooooooooooooold (and technically archived) issue... but my answer would've been 'yes' when it was created, and it still is a 'yes'...
Facebook's upgrade to a real-time home page is not better than the previous design.
Facebook should use an open source model to develop their terms of service. Sure... why not?
Consumer electronic platforms for reading e-books and periodicals will not replace print media. I have to say, I hope not... looking at monitors and screens 24-7 will prove to be worse for one's eyes in the long-run than reading actual print. So... here's to an entirely blind society. But, look on the bright side, that would easily put an end to racism, no? (Yes, I'm being facetious.)
Twitter should not allow users to filter search results by a member's follower count. The "authority" on Twitter is so arbitrary, it means nothing... just like most of the tweets. 95% of the site is simply useless, unimportant information. No, I don't care what you ate for lunch... and even less so if I don't know who the hell you are.
whereIstand is an effective forum for influencing people's opinions.
There should be a permanent moratorium on state and local taxes on Internet access.
High-speed Internet access should be free.
Mozilla Firefox is the most secure Internet browser.
The iPod is better than the Zune.
L'Internet a eu un impact positif sur l'industrie du film. Spoilers may suck, but in terms of the industry itself, you have to ask one question: Would "Snakes on a Plane" or "Cloverfield" have made any money if not for the viral internet campaigns?
News agencies should not limit the content bloggers can excerpt from their articles. Bloggers don't fully publish entire AP stories, they take excerpts to add commentary to... and their commentary brings new viewers and more traffic to AP-related content. Every blogger in the world should place a moratorium for a month on using AP content
Les jeux vidéo violents n'incitent pas à un comportement violent.
U.S. Customs agents should not be allowed to search laptops without reasonable suspicion. I think the key is "without reasonable suspicion"... the fact is that employees often travel with laptops for work purposes... should these agents really have the right to just snoop through confidential company files just because they feel like it? Nintendo Wii should be considered a form of exercise. Naturally it depends on how intensely one is playing, and what game... I wouldn't consider Guitar Hero exercise... but Wii Sports, Dance Dance Revolution, and a few others require quite a bit of physicality... I've worked up a sweat playing Wii games... a
