Congress should not investigate the NFL's destruction of video evidence stemming from Spygate.
Student-athletes should not receive preferential treatment in the admissions process.
Student-athletes should not receive compensation. Absolutely not.
The NCAA should allow student-athletes to transfer schools without sitting out a year.
The Heisman Trophy voting process is effective.
The Baseball Hall of Fame should accept Barry Bonds' 756th home run ball branded with an asterisk.
Military academies should not permit athletes to forgo active duty to play professional sports.
The BCS is not an effective method for determining the national champion. Heck no
College football should not institute a playoff system. I'd like to see the BCS gone and we all go back to the old Bowl Games of yore. I miss those days. There is no real way to crown a champion in most cases...someone will always have a complaint when there are 112 teams in the field.
Football players are sufficiently protected from injury. It's not like they are going into these games ignorant about what can happen to them. Injuries are part of the game. They're protected about as well as you could hope.
Former NFL players are sufficiently compensated by the National Football League Players Association for their post-career injuries. If they didn't blow all their money early in their careers they probably wouldn't have to be dealing with this problem.
Sports bloggers should be given the same access to teams as the media.
Sports are a crucial part of functioning society. Sports are all about pushing ourselves and overcoming barriers, exactly what life is all about. It teaches proactivity and (for the most part) healthy living.
Professional athletes are overpaid. When pro athletes started making more than teachers, they were being paid too much.
Native American nicknames should be used in team names. Do the Native Americans really care?
Fantasy sports should not be classified as gambling. Fantasy sports aren't necessarily a game of chance.
Student-athletes should be drug tested. Absolutely. Young athletes are the future of sports and they should be taught to be obedient to the rules as early as possible. Now, don't drug test a 5 year old, but High school for sure.
Professional athletes should compete in the Olympics. Why not? The Olympics are all about the greatest athletes alive...the pros, if they're that good, should be allowed to compete.
The New England Patriots will not go undefeated during the 2007 regular-season. They're already 16-0, but I think they'll be 17-1 after losing to Indianapolis in the AFC CG.
