The V-chip has not been effective.
Citizen journalism has a positive effect on news reporting. Positive at least for now. The bloggers aren't driven by commercial interests and appear to represent multiple sides of the spectrum. This has a more powerful influence than regular news reporting.
Websites should allow anonymous comments. Anonymous comments are disabled for spammers, not for censorship. People can spoof as other people anyways, or use a strange username, so it doesn't really make a difference.
Print newspapers will become obsolete. It's less a matter of opinion and more a matter of fact. Several newspapers across the country are taking losses in their print advertising due to the popularity of the Internet. As more and more people go electronic, less and less will there be a busines
Bloggers should not be held responsible for comments posted on their blogs by others. As more of a website "administrator" than a blogger, I was thinking more along the lines of defamation than the potential restriction of freedom of speech, so, No, bloggers should not be held responsible.
Congress should pass legislation to mandate network neutrality on the Internet. Research has made me see the light. Allowing ISP's to restrict content arbitrarily is wrong.
Journalists should not reveal the identities of anonymous sources who have misled them.
The federal government should not regulate violence on television. Hey man, it's better people get it out in front of the boob tube than get it out in other ways.
There should not be legal protection for celebrities who are frequent paparazzi targets. Allocating taxpayer dollars to people who have millions of dollars to pay for it themselves? No.
Television news should not entertain as well as inform. News is supposed to be about providing information to the people, not getting lots of views for advertisers.
Reality television has had a negative impact on the quality of programming.
The use of the Internet has affected the English language. I was going to say no until I thought twice and realized I think "lol" in my head =P Yeah a lot of memes have been going around too. Undeniable.
Internet gambling should not be banned. What reason would there be to do that?
The Fairness Doctrine should not be reinstated. If there were a HAAYEELLL NO, I'd pick that instead.
The media is politically biased and generally leans to the Right. Money = right wing = self-explanatory.
The news media should not cover celebrities' personal lives. Hell no that's horrid.
