Feminism is relevant. Conscious or not, complacent or not, acceptant or not, there still does exist a bias against women today.
The government should not regulate marriage.
There are no persuasive non-religious reasons to prohibit same-sex marriage.
The story of Creation as recorded in Genesis is symbolic.
An atheist can be spiritual.
The Catholic Church should not deny communion to members who are pro-choice.
Marriage should not be defined as a union between one man and one woman. I stand corrected. From the dictionary -- "any close or intimate association or union"
Children should be allowed to play video games. The television is not evil!
Marijuana for medicinal use should be legalized.
The United States should not issue a formal apology for slavery. As i said in a different issue - African Americans aren't the only ethnic minority that has been victimized in this country.
Marijuana should be legal.
The death penalty is not an effective crime deterrent. If you don't fix the source the water will continue flowing.
Different genders are not treated equally in the workplace.
Religious beliefs are vital to society. For the people that need it, yes.
Gay public figures do not have a responsibility to disclose their sexual orientation.
The Catholic Church should not excommunicate members who are pro-choice. Thought Jesus said to love everyone.
A Christian can lose salvation.
God is not just. Given that God exists, if God created just and unjust, good and evil alike, then God is not just. Good cannot exist without evil, evil cannot exist without good. Without its opposite or something different, a thing cannot be substantiated with existence.
There is no convincing evidence that a higher being exists.
Homosexuality is not immoral.
Public displays of religious content should be permitted so long as they are not overly intrusive. A Jewish man should be able to stick the Star of David on his front door and a Christian woman should be allowed to wear a cross.
The term "God" should not be used in oaths.
Freedom from discrimination based on sexual orientation should be considered a civil right. I think these questions are a little basic.
Employer non-discrimination policies should apply to sexual orientation.
Affirmative action is not necessary. Handing a person a dollar bill is different than teaching him to use the dollar bill. Freebies never solve problems
The 'War on Drugs' has not been effective in curbing illegal drug use.
Government funds should not be used for religious purposes. See: Separation of Church and State
The Pledge of Allegiance should not include the phrase "under God" for other reasons. It wasn't put in for religious reasons. It was put in for political reasons - everyone wants to hear about God; it was the buzzword for righteousness and being the good guy back then. Christians can invoke God and Jesus, but ask a preacher on the subway t
Rehabilitation should be the primary purpose of incarceration. What's the point of throwing people in jail if they're going to come out and re-commit the crime? Whoops, there goes our taxpayer dollars! =) Imagine! In jail you get food, clothing, shelter, entertainment (they get TV's and movies), recreation - they get
Prostitution should be legal. Yes. That way it can thereby be regulated, to avoid the proliferation of STD's, and as it is an occupation, it can be taxed so that we may all play our part as citizens. Let's face it - if smoking is legal and alcohol is legal, why not prostitution?
Schools should not teach Intelligent Design as a scientific theory. No. It's not a scientific theory. It's an arbitrary conjecture based in nothing.
African Americans should not receive reparations for slavery. Then give reparations to Japanese people for internment camps in WW2, give reparations to Vietnam, give reparations to Iraq, give reparations to the Italians and the Irish and the Jews that were repressed years ago, give reparations to the Chinese working
Catholic priests should be permitted to marry.
There is a non-religious basis for universal principles of morality. Science. The way the universe is defined regulates the abstract known as "morality".
Consumption of alcohol is not immoral.
People should engage in premarital sex.
The use of contraceptives is not immoral. I would be in -shock- to see anyone think that contraception is immoral.
Violence in movies does not contribute to violence in society.
A couple should live together before getting married. Technically yes. There are idiosyncracies associated with living together that you may not be able to cope with. You really gotta know someone before you get married, but hey, I'm a hypocrite, I'd get married before living together no sweat =P
Man is not infallible. How can you even suggest otherwise? In my opinion this is a poor issue.
