The U.S. cannot meet all of its energy demands within 10 years through carbon-free sources.
Polar bears should not be listed under the Endangered Species Act.
Congress should not raise the gas tax.
The U.S. government should not increase the national gas mileage standard.
Governments should not create mandatory recycling programs.
The benefits of recycling do not outweigh the costs.
Congress should lift the ban on offshore oil drilling. The only way we'll be able to get out of this mess is if we start exploiting our own resources versus expecting someone else to do it for us.
There is not a link between global warming and the rising intensity of natural disasters.
The U.S. should not have signed the Kyoto Treaty. Why should the economic engine of the world be hamstrung? If the developing world is excempt from the treaty, it just means that everyone else wants to stop our prosperity.
Global warming is not a problem that humans must take actions to address. This planet has been here long before man has arrived and will be here long after man is extict. The fossil records show much warmer and colder temperatures than we are experiencing now. Our planet's climate has cycles of change that man can do nothing ab
Racism was not a factor whatsoever in the government's response to Katrina. The problem with Katrina is that people did not act for themselves - they waited for the government to do something.
Climate change will have a negative effect on the economy. As long as the government decides it has to so something about this non problem, the impact will be huge, the effects we are already feeling with higher prices for food, fuel, etc.
Global warming is not a problem primarily caused by humans because the Earth's climate has not been affected by humans. Vulcanic eruptions cause more "harm" to the environment than all our "human caused" pollution. I know, lets ban vulcanoes
Plastic grocery bags should not be banned. Plasic bags used to be the enviro's "cure" for the use of paper bags... now it's "evil". Leave the market alone and allow the consumer to decide. I say, bring back the paper bag!
The U.S. should expand oil and gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. Anywhere there is a resource for the U.S. energy needs should be explored and used. It is the law of suppy and demand. More demand equals higher prices unless the supply is increased. Conservation (or restricting demand) does not work.
The U.S. should permit commercial logging in national forests. Living in Oregon, I see so many forest in a diseased state due to the fact that logging is banned in many area. Having a natural resourse that will regrow should be used.
The government should not regulate greenhouse-gas emissions. CO2 is a natural byproduct of life. To regulate such emissions is to regulate life - no thank you.
The U.S. should allow drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR). The only way for the U.S. to reduce dependence on foreign oil is to produce it ourselves. We have the resources and the technical knowledge to do so.
