When government owns a 60% share, meddling is sure to follow.
Nor is GM's bailout fair to rival Ford. That company has been the most responsible of the Big Three and has been able to forgo assistance. After all the money pumped into GM and Chrysler, however, Ford will likely have the weakest balance sheet. At some point it, too, might want help.
