Racism has not played a role in opposition to Barack Obama. Please what a cop out, lame excuse. Obama is to the far-left so of course there is going to major opposition to his policies. Every poll shows that more people like Obama as a person than agree with his policies. Jimmy Carter is a buffoon, who should keep his mouth shut instead of insulting people who actually care about policy. Even Obama is rejecting this has-been who was the worst President of the 20th Century.
The Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act is not constitutional. Abortion is a state issue, so any Federal interference either allowing, restricting, or prohibiting any kind of abortion is Unconstitutional.
Elected officials should not be allowed to change their political affiliation between elections. There is too much potential for corruption, favors, bribes, etc. Look at the mess with Pedro Espada in NY. If you want to switch parties, then there should be a special election.
Governor Patrick should not make a temporary appointment to replace Ted Kennedy in the U.S. Senate. This is called just desserts when you play partisan politics. The Democrats changed the law in 2004 when they thought John Kerry would win the Presidency and they didnt want then Republican Governor Mitt Romney to replace Kerry with a Republican. I think it is great that they are being hurt by their own law.
Republicans will win the most seats in the 2010 Congressional elections. Far left liberal politicians are too arrogant and stupid to realize that they are pushing an agenda that most of America does not support. Also the rampant corruption by Democrat politicians is being exposed. Power corrupts, so no matter which party is in charge, the cycle of lies, fraud, and corruption never ends. When the Republicans regain power the same cycle of lies, corruption and partisan politics will continue. It is hard to believe that there are people still out there who defend one side over the other.
Both parties are equally responsible for the federal deficit. I am so disgusted with both sides. The Republicans were a disaster the last 8 years, then the Democrats who promised change, pass a bill that basically lines the pockets of all of their big money donors. This whole government is corrupt no matter who is in charge.
President Obama should have authorized the use of force against the Somali pirates. Of course he should have, what were the other options? They couldn't let them get to shore and take Phillips on land. I just don't get the celebrating by people. Our Navy against three young, uneducated poor kids who never had a chance in life who were on a small boat without fuel is like the Yankees playing a little league team. It is not even close to a show of strength for the US. It was not even a National Security Issue. The whole thing is sad and absolutely there is no reason for any celebration or congratulations to Obama. This just shows everything that is wrong with our system. The same people who are cheering Obama would have trashed Bush if he was the one who gave the approval. Of course Obama also set it up so that if it failed he wouldn't take the blame, by giving the Navy the authority to do what they saw fit. Classic move by the gutless, buck-passing Obama who wants credit for everything good, but blames other's for failures.
Rod Blagojevich was at the center of the worst political scandal of 2008. Not even close.
Arlen Specter's switch to the Democratic Party will have no effect on his reelection campaign. He loses either way. The lying, gutless, has-been's career is thankfully over come 2010.
The "Bradley Effect" does not still play a role in American politics. There never was a "Bradley effect", it was an invention by the liberal media to explain a loss of one of their favored candidates. Bradley was sinking in the polls as that election neared.
Candidates' personal lives should play a role in campaigns. Of course it should, when politicians promoting government run health care cut to the front of the line when their lives are on the line or those promoting family values are caught having affairs, among many others lies, it should prove what absolute lying, corrupt, hypocrites they truly are.
There should be more measures restricting the right to own and carry a firearm. I really don't see the need for most people to own guns, but lets face the truth, even if there are stricter laws, criminals will still find a way to get guns.
The U.S. military should decrease troop levels in Afghanistan. why are we still fighting this war with increased troop levels? We have been there for 8 years. Lets go home.
Sarah Palin is not qualified to be the President of the United States. She is clearly not qualified, but she was more qualifiied than Obama and look at the mess he has already gotten us into.
The U.S. should not negotiate with Iran directly. As long as this regime is in charge, it would be a waste of time. You can't trust them.
Iraq's oil revenue should be used to finance all of the country's reconstruction.
New York City should not amend its term limits law for Mayor Bloomberg. clear violation of what the people wanted.
Hugo Chavez's leadership has had a negative impact on Venezuela. Tyrants who murder, imprison, and supress the oppositions' free speech never have a positve impact.
The invasion of Iraq was lawful in consideration of the treaties signed by the United States and including the Charter of the United Nations - it did not violate any applicable laws or treaties.

Sarah Palin had a negative impact on John McCain's candidacy.
