From Berkley's Website:
“This resolution says thank you to our troops, but it also clearly says no to a surge in Iraq. The President wants to send 20,000 more U.S. troops into a civil war with an open-ended mission and a bulls-eye on their back and I do not support his policy. President Bush has yet to put forth a strategy that outlines where we’re going, how we’re going to get there, how long it’s going to take, how much it’s going to cost and at what sacrifice to the American people,” Berkley said. “The bottom line remains that I will not give this President a blank check for a surge when he has yet to provide us a clear understanding of why such an increase is needed or how it will help us to succeed.”
