Tiger Woods will not win the 2008 U.S. Open. Not without pulling a major miracle out of his back pocket.
Professional golfers should not be considered athletes. There is nothing athletic about golf. Its a sport, but they aren't athletes. Just like Nascar thinks its a sport, and they sure as hell aren't athletes.
Professional athletes should compete in the Olympics. The Olympics are a show of the best of the best in the realm of sports. Why shouldn't athletes that do this for a living compete?
Trophy hunting should be illegal. Find another way to make up for the fact that you're packing marbles instead of steel cojones.
It is not appropriate for network television to broadcast mixed martial arts fights. We don't need to teach kids how to beat the crap out of each other. This is a pointless "sport" that has no place on normal TV.
Sports bloggers should be given the same access to teams as the media. As long as their blog is a dedicated sports blog, and not just a weekend hobby.
Major League Baseball should not use instant replay to review umpires' decisions. Baseball is already slow enough as is.
The U.S. should not boycott the Beijing Olympics. The only people that will suffer from this will be the athletes that trained for years to get to the Olympics for nothing.
Horse racing is not humane. Skinny morons slapping the shit out of horses for sport. Oh yes, definitely humane (this is sarcasm in case you peta people go apeshit.) I wouldn't necessarily be against slapping the riders with the whip to see how they enjoy it. The whole horse jumpi
Evgeni Nabokov should win the Vezina Trophy for NHL's best goaltender. Nabokov, even though it should be renamed the Roy trophy and given to him permanently. Don't even bother with the anti-aves/roy comments.
NHL players should not be required to wear neck and throat protection. I've played hockey for 9 years and we were required to wear neck protection. It was an absolute pain in the ass. You know the risk playing hockey, so you should be responsible for how much protection you wish to wear.
Student-athletes should not receive compensation. I absolutely know that being a student-athlete is like having a full time job. The only problem is they are usually doing it for their own enjoyment. They will have a hard time balancing work, studies, and sports but it isn't fair to non-athletes that o
Military academies should permit athletes to forgo active duty to play professional sports. I think the athlete should have the choice, but at the same time I see it as a waste of a spot in the military academy that could have gone to someone that wants to be an officer, and not just play for a reputable sports team.
Congress should not investigate the alleged steroid use in Major League Baseball. How about they focus on things that actually have an impact on this country, you know...like Iraq. Congress should never be wasting time on a damn sport.
Athletes using prosthetics should not be permitted to compete with natural-limbed athletes. They're basically running on springs, it will give them a slight advantage. They should however, be given props for being able to run marathons when most of us Americans can't with two perfectly good legs.
The 2007 New England Patriots are not the best football team of all time. Worst team of all time. Having to cheat to get on top is pathetic. Awesome role models for youngsters.
Car racing is not a sport. Only in the Redneck Olympics.
Professional athletes are overpaid. Athletes need to make a fraction of what they currently make. Congratulations you get a million dollars to catch a ball and teachers and emergency services (police/fire) get paid a fraction of what they deserve.
