Organic farmers should not receive additional federal subsidies. Subsidies for farmers needs to end.
The U.S. should end agricultural subsidies. We really shouldn't have to pay for shit we don't necessarily use. I understand that being a farmer can be tough if its a bad year, but they accept that risk when they choose that career.
The U.S. should build more oil refineries. We need to be self sufficient and not have to rely on the supply of greedy foreign oil companies.
Songs on iTunes should be priced based on demand. Having old songs be priced like new popular songs isn't right. Everywhere else, you pay less for the older "models" why not in the music industry.
Call centers should be required to disclose the physical location of their employees. You should also be able to request speaking to someone that A. Speaks English. B. Knows what the hell they're talking about. and C. Actually listens to you when you tell them you've already done the basic troubleshooting steps and don't need to waste the
The Federal Government should not assist mortgage defaulters. Why should we the tax payers help people that aren't smart enough to figure out if they can afford their house? If they can't sit down and make a budget, they shouldn't be able to rely on us to bail them out.
Food should contain country-of-origin labeling. With the latest shit that China has been sending us? Abso-freaking-lutely.
Credit counseling reduces bankruptcies. Anything that helps people budget can reduce bankruptcy.
Germany makes the most reliable cars. Hands down, Germany. American cars are crap these days, and I'm not too keen on driving a plastic car from Japan.
Congress should increase the federal minimum wage. Although I don't see this being a tremendous help, since most states have a higher minimum wage than the federal already.
The government should not provide financial assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure. No. Never. Its their own fault they didn't pay their bills on time. If they had sat down and planned a budget they would realize that they couldn't afford the house in the first place. It is entirely there fault. They deserve no help.
Air travel is safer since 9-11. Its safer, at the expense of extra hours wasted getting body-cavity searched.
The U.S. government should not change the size or texture of its banknotes. While I agree that it is somewhat hard for vision-impaired individuals to use paper banknotes, the cost and time to revamp the bills would be astronomical. We have more important things to deal with right now, like getting food on our citizens tables.
The United States Mint should stop circulating the penny. Absolutely. That way companies can stop bullshitting us and listing items as $19.99 and just put $20.00.
The U.S. should provide tax breaks for businesses that do not outsource. Any company that stays All-American deserves tax breaks. They should also tax outsourcing more heavily to entice companies to stay in the states where people are unemployed!
Outsourcing improves the US economy. In the economic sense it improves it, while improving the wallet of the CEO's, by hurting the blue collar worker.
Movie stars' salaries are justified. Economically its justified...but realistically its just asinine. Getting paid seven figures to pretend to be someone else, while jobs that are needed to keep America safe and running are getting pay cuts is absurd.
The U.S. economy will not go into recession in 2008. The economy is already slowly getting better. Please go take an economics class and stop reading biased media.
Private student loans should not be dischargeable in bankruptcy. Bankruptcy is for lazy, unorganized, incompetent people.
The Bush Administration stimulus package will not prevent a recession. We'd have to be in a recession for it to prevent it. The media is over-hyping the situation. The economy is getting better albeit slowly.
The U.S. should not allow farmers to grow industrial hemp.
