Teachers should receive performance-based merit pay.
Abstinence-only sex education should not be taught in schools. The REAL act is the way to go. Medically accurate information.
Schools should not punish students for not reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. If its against their belief they don't have to recite it, but at the same time they cannot be allowed to cause a disruption while its happening. Just sit there quietly like a civilized person would do.
There should be a foreign language requirement in public schools. With the way America is, it would be foolish to not know more than one language. It also helps to be forewarned if your cook at Burger King spit in your food.
The U.S. military should be allowed to recruit in public high schools. Of course, they aren't forcing anyone to enlist. They're just providing options.
It is acceptable for courses on the Bible to be taught in public schools. It is acceptable but it cannot be mandatory. You cannot force religion on anyone, just as you cannot force Atheism on anyone.
Race should not be a factor when assigning students to public schools. Race should never be a factor in schooling period.
The federal government should increase higher education subsidies for low-income students. Only with strict guidelines, just like any other form of financial aid.
Prayer should be permitted in public schools. To pray or not to pray...you're offending someone if you ban it, and offending someone if you don't ban it. Suck it up, it won't hurt you to see someone pray.
Arts programs are not an essential part of education. Its not a subject the majority of people will ever use in their life. Being able to name a painting won't make your life any easier.
Private schools should not receive public funding. They already charge ridiculously high tuition.
Race should not be a factor in the university admission process.
American schools should not offer bilingual classes for native Spanish-speakers.
The No Child Left Behind Act has not been effective.
The government should not issue vouchers for private school tuition.
