The U.S. should build a missile defense shield.
The Department of Homeland Security is necessary.
Congress should eliminate the estate tax. The estate tax is total bullshit.
The U.S. should not extend military soldiers' tours of duty. Enough will volunteer to go back on more tours. There isn't a need to force it.
Additional aid should not be provided to African countries. We need to stop all aid, fix our own problems, then and only then can we be sending aid to other countries. Not just Africa.
The U.S. should maintain the size of its nuclear arsenal. I'm sure we have plenty to annihilate the world 5 times over, but there is no point in removing our stockpile of them.
The religious beliefs of an elected official should not affect their policy decisions. but it will.
The U.N. should impose sanctions on Iran.
A third-party candidate can win the Presidency. Theoretically yes, but realistically not a chance in hell.
Congress should have oversight over private military contractors. Since contractors generally work for our government, congress should have some oversight. However congress should not be able to restrict how the contractors get the job done.
The U.S. should not intervene with military force if Iran attacks Israel. Israel doesn't need our help. They pack a helluva punch for a small country. Military-wise.
The Guantanamo detainees should be tried and prosecuted by courts, just like any other prisoners. They're prisoners, but they still deserve the right to due process. You can't just lock them away forever. Even though I am in favor of them keeping Guantanamo open.
Israel should not cut off electricity to Gaza in response to rocket attacks. Pissing them off even more isn't a very brilliant idea.
The U.S. should not restrict prisoners' access to lawyers at Guantanamo Bay. They're prisoners, they deserve the basic right of access to an unbiased appointed lawyer.
A wall along the Mexican border will not decrease the likelihood of terrorists entering the U.S. We all know this wall won't do jack shit to decrease terrorism. It will just show that immigrants are very determined to get into our country if they make it over the wall.
The U.S. military should accept recruits with criminal records. They're doing some good with their life instead of going back to their old habits of committing crimes.
People convicted of felonies should have voting rights. They are still people, and they deserve a vote. Its not like they are going to write-in a fellow criminal.
The U.S. should store nuclear waste in Yucca Mountain, Nevada. It has to be stored somewhere, and you can choose not to live anywhere near it.
Political officials should not boycott the Beijing Olympics' opening ceremony. Nothing good would come from this.
Iran does not pose a significant threat to America's national security. Not unless we're afraid of invasion via camel. Nothing in their wildest dreams as far as nuclear arsenal could ever reach the US.
The U.S. should not implement a federal sales tax. If this involves removing state sales tax, then yes. I have a feeling that it will be on -top- of that. So a big HELL NO.
Sex education in schools affects the incidence of abortion. I would imagine it does.
The invasion of Iraq has not been successful. It was a waste of time. We should have retaliated with a massive barrage of precision bombs and been done with it. Show the world that America doesn't take lightly to attacks on our home soil.
President Bush should not be impeached. He should be commended for putting up with the absolute bullshit the media has pulled this past term. Its not his fault that America got attacked shortly after being sworn in. Not to mention the mess that Clinton started and left for him.
The government should not be able to access your financial, library, travel, video rental, phone, medical, and religious records without your knowledge or consent. The government has absolutely no need for that information. On the very off chance that it could be vital to national security, then they can ask for it. Ask -not- take.
The United States' strategy in Iraq should be to gradually withdraw military forces from Iraq over the next year regardless of the country's political climate. We have no obligation to help them rebuild anything. It will take a year to get everyone back home.
Congress should not fund a troop surge in Iraq. We've wasted enough lives, resources, and time in Iraq. Bring our troops home.
The U.S. should not reinstate the draft. We have enough in the military now. The draft is unnecessary.
Al Gore should not run for president again. Al Gore needs to take his peace prize and go live on an island somewhere with his global warming bullshit.
The U.S. should use a flat tax system. Universal tax is an excellent idea. This country is based on equality, yet taxes are fluctuating in every bracket
'Waterboarding' should be characterized as torture. What the hell else would it be characterized as?
The presidential primary system should be replaced. Popular vote is the way to go. No one vote is more powerful than the other. The votes cannot be bought (as easily or as cheaply).
The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) should not include immunity for telecom companies. Absolutely not.
Presidential campaigns should be funded through the public financing system. Public financing would level the playing field. Well known candidates can't drop names and get massive funding choking off the lesser known people.
Barack Obama should win the Democratic nomination for president in 2008. Obviously.
The U.S. should not provide additional financial assistance to Mexico's war on drugs. We cannot afford to keep sending financial assistance to every country when we're trillions in debt. -Enough- with the foreign aid already.
Pharmacists should be required to fill birth-control prescriptions. Your job is to dole out pills. You can't decline to fill a prescription on moral grounds or religious beliefs.
Preemptive military strikes can be justified. Millions of lives vs a few hundred. Its always a tough call to order a strike that will end lives, but if its for the greater good, it is justified.
Women should be allowed in forward support companies working with combat battalions. We have no legitimate reason to keep them off the front line without being called sexist pigs. However, they know the risks, it should be their choice.
A presidential run in 2012 is not part of Hillary Clinton’s strategy. If you call lying, dirty tactics, and boozing it up with the locals a strategy...sure. After this campaign she has effectively assassinated her political career.
