If the damn government would scale back its monstrous size, taxes, and oppressive regulations the market would provide incentives to build fuel-efficient cars.

But only to manufacturers of good automobiles. Guess that lets out General Motors, Chrysler, and Ford. Their workers can build as good a car as anybody, but their management won't give them decent one...

The U.S. should not expand oil and gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

The day will come when these reserves are really needed and the technologies will have evolved to the point where it is actually safe enough -- until then, lets focus on becoming petrocarbon fuel free...

The U.S. government should increase the national gas mileage standard.

And close loopholes on what vehicles are included in the standards. We need to be agressive in getting ourselves free of carbon based fuels...
