The 2008 financial crisis will not lead to another economic depression.

There is no causal relationship between these two. They simply have a common source. And yes, that common source is the inept (to be generous) federal government, borrowing like there's no tomorrow, ...

AIG should not have been bailed out by the federal government.

That just sets a precedent for others to follow.

The U.S. should end agricultural subsidies.

and No. This question is way to simplistic... if all countries ended all import agricultural quotas. tariffs and subsidies simultaneously it might be ok... but what are the chances of that happening?

But the recession is going to feel like a depression to all of the Americans that have forgotten how to live within their means...
