Firefox will not surpass Internet Explorer in global market share.

IE is the Web standard, comes with Windows, and is solid. While Firefox is good, it lacks the consumer base and recognition it needs to truly surpass IE.

Unlikely. It's a good browser, but IE is still the most convenient, so it's unlikely that people will make the effort to get Firefox instead.

Some of Firefox is good, some is not. If they get too uppity, Microsoft will buy them out or find another way to put them out of business, which will be another blow to comsumers.

I use Firefox and think it's superior to IE. But don't underestimate the value of a predominant market share and MS linkages. Look how many folks still use AOL, a real loser of a product...
