From a New York Post Editorial:
But, in a world with hundreds of cable stations and satellite radio - plus an Internet featuring its own radio and streaming video, blogs and uncounted political Web sites of all persuasions - the idea that government should (or even could) enforce balance is laughable on its face.
The left's problem is not with the media - it's with their message.
Moreover, one political document might find Fairness Doctrine-imposed "balance" really offensive:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
That should be the last word.
Doubtless it won't be.
