States should charge sales tax for online purchases.
Although I am very anti-tax. I think it is appropriate to charge sales tax for the state the item is sold from.

Business is being done in a State. There is a person...a laptop somewhere that is at least calculating bank deposits. Someone that is keeping the website up to date with items to sell. Someone somewhere answering customer service emails. That's doing business. Sales tax should be charged (and reported) for that State. Some States...such as mine do not have an income tax. We rely on sales tax.

Well, sales taxes existed because businesses were operating in a particular state. If all of the transactions are done online, then there's no liability to the state.
Plus - the state still gets the income tax from the business that was incorporated there.
