Major League Baseball should not use instant replay to review umpires' decisions. What...make the most boring game known to man even SLOWER? Yeah, that'll work! Then maybe you can add two minute breaks between pitches for crotch-scratching. Never mind...got that already.
Home-field advantage in the World Series should be awarded to the team whose league wins the All-Star Game. I guess I shouldn't be rendering an opinion on this issue, since for me baseball is simply an alternative to Ambien...quicker and without the side-effects.
The elliptical provides the best aerobic workout from a stationary machine. Zero impact, stride adjustment, upper-body option, forward/reverse, adjustable tension...love my elliptical and use it WAY more than my bike, treadmill or row machine.
Sammy Sosa should not be voted into the Hall of Fame. Well, maybe baseball's Hall of SHAME, OK? There is no joy in Mudville when America's pastime has become so besmirched by cheating, cover-ups, etc.
Recreational skiers should not be required to wear helmets. While it appears that personal responsibility is no longer in vogue since Obama will be solving all our problems, I still support retaining a few freedoms...just for old-times sake.
The Division I NCAA Tournament should not be expanded to more than 65 teams. This sounds like the sports equivalent of social promotion. Feeling sorry for those left out? Fine...do away with the season and include ALL teams in the Tournament.
Management is more responsible for the proliferation of steroid use in Major League Baseball. No one involved is blameless, including the players' union (which wasn't included as one of the answer options for this issue.) The players cheated, management and the unions enabled and everyone lied.
The entire list of 104 players who tested positive for steroids in 2003 should be made public. Shouldn't fans know which players' statistics are legitimate and which have been chemically altered? Isn't it important to identity the cheaters in the game?
A player that has used steroids should not be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Such a player should be inducted into the Hall of Shame. An inductee whose achievements are based on cheating casts a pall on all those who EARNED their place in the Hall of Fame.
Alex Rodriquez's steroid use should keep him out of the Hall of Fame. This guy is an admitted liar and a cheat. The time for baseball to elevate substance abuse to the level of capital crime, alongside gambling, is long overdue.
USA Swimming should have suspended Michael Phelps. They had to. Phelps admitted his mistake and his iconic stature demands a response that acknowledges the public relations damage that's occurred. Ultimately, the suspension will help his image.
Sponsors should not drop Michael Phelps as their celebrity spokesman. It's unfortunate that society's continued paranoia about marijuana has left it with such a stigma. Maybe some brave sponsors won't cave under the pressure of Phelps having broken a ridiculous law.
Football is America's national pastime. Based on popularity, football rules according to Wikipedia. But clearly, judging by Americans' waistlines, EATING is America's REAL national pastime.
Penn State will win the 2009 Rose Bowl. My two favorite teams are UCLA and whoever is playing USC.
Lance Armstrong did not use performance-enhancing drugs. So far, the only concrete evidence suggesting such use is his unprecedented win record. What does it say about sports if we necessarily suspect all winners of cheating by virtue of their victories?
Boxing will not regain its popularity in America. And does anyone care? I don't...
Barry Bonds' home run record should have an asterisk. And it should say, "This player was a liar and a cheat".
Awarding the 2008 Summer Olympics to China was not a mistake. Sorry, I must have missed it. Did they make politics an Olympic event? If not, then maybe you should just concentrate on the fabulous job the Chinese have done on these games.
