Value of a No. 3 starter vs. a dominant reliever

I don’t know that we haven’t arrived at a place in baseball where it is not at least appropriate to have the discussion about the value of a dominant reliever vs. the value of a starting pitcher. In an era where a starting pitcher often goes 5 2/3rds - God forbid he should go 6 2/3rds; people want to throw a parade - all of a sudden, the value of a guy who just walks in and closes the door if you have a lead, if your starter (if you have a big-time offense) can keep you in a game until the seventh inning and you win, then there is at least a discussion to be had about the relative value of that guy. Now, I understand everyone is going to say, “If he can be a legitimate big-time starter, you have to put him there”, and I agree, but the question is, just how good a starting pitcher is he? Because he is a magnificent, a dominant… not closer at this point, but it looks like he could be a reliever.
