Blackburn switches to Fred Thompson

From this announcement:

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, Tennessee co-chair of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's presidential campaign and a national co-chair of Women for Romney, on Friday endorsed former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson.

A Blackburn spokesman said in April that Blackburn would reassess her commitment to Romney -- "cross that bridge" -- when and if Thompson decided to run. But on Friday morning, the Draft Fred Thompson 2008 committee, released a statement quoting Blackburn.

"Our nation faces challenging times that requires (sic) vision and leadership. I know Fred Thompson is the right leader for these times," it said. "I sincerely hope that Fred Thompson will choose to seek the Republican nomination for President of the United States. He has my wholehearted support and I encourage my fellow Tennesseans and Americans to stand with us."
