Addiction is not a disease. It is a psychological disorder, not a disease. Not that it is any less problematic.
The identity of sperm donors should remain anonymous. If the father wanted to remain anonymous, then they might not be interested in contact period, also there is a small factor of the fear that the accepter may stalk the donor or attempt to milk money from the said person via a frivilous lawsuit involving c
Pets do improve their owners' health. The APA agrees, A good pet can lower stress and their companionship can help combat loneliness. They can reduce stress in the same way a non-detrimental hobby can as well as being a companion in some cases. I have personally observed empathic tendancies f
The U.S. should permit the import of prescription drugs from Canada. Canada is a first world nation with standards comparable to ours.
The FDA's drug approval process is not effective. Takes a very long time, a few drugs each year seem to make reports of being very, very, determental for health. I don't want to 'weigh in' on this issue too much though because I'm not an expert and I don't have all the facts here.
Bottled water is not safer than tap water. This depends on the area you get it from, but as far as America goes: In general our tap water is very safe and held to higher standards and regulations than bottled water is.
The use of birth control is not equivalent to abortion. The egg and sperm are not a human in and of themselves, it is when they meet that the debate should really start.
Positive thinking can improve your health. Positive thinking generally means less stress and stress has a signifigant impact on the body. Just remember it is prevention, not medicine.
An individual should have the right to make choices that affect the length or quality of her life. We are adults and do not need nannies. If you wish to take a chance and don't infringe upon anyone else's rights then go for it.
Masturbation is healthy. While excessive masturbation is not, in general it promotes good health.
Abstinence-only sex education is not effective. Abstinence-only sex education causes unprotected sex to occur. Young ones are ill-equip for it and it will happen.
Physician-assisted suicide should be legal. Tell this to a terminally ill patient who feels nothing but intense pain and has such pain that (s)he'd rather die than be with his family on earth.
The U.S. government should provide universal healthcare. It worked so well for Canada and Europe.
The U.S. should do more to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa. Should do more to fight it everywhere.
A universal healthcare system would require a tax increase. It will, but it will also be very well worth it.
The government should regulate the cost of healthcare. I am for Universal Healthcare so this is part of that.
Health insurance pricing should not favor those who meet physical standards. The old and weak should not be hindered by their physical conditions. This opinion could only be shared by people who care only about bottom line profits, people who are perfect physical specimens themselves or libertarians.
There are no persuasive health reasons not to eat genetically modified foods. As far as I've seen, there is no demonstratable link to health risks and GMO crops. Furthermore GMO crops give us the capability to feed the world's population. We'd only be able to support maybe one third of everyone without them.
People do have a right to affordable healthcare. Look at how great UHC works in Europe and Canada. I think Cuba might even have it and when Cuba has a perk you don't then you have a major problem.
