The government should allow same-sex couples to adopt children. Studies have shown that actually the only problem with a same-sex couple raising a child is the intolerance of other people. Same-sex couples are just as capable of raising a child as straight couples.
Violence in movies does not contribute to violence in society. Outside of fringe cases, movies really don't play a signifigant role in violence. Not many people exit a film wanting to kill someone unless that movie is Batman and Robin.
The U.S. should not enact a constitutional amendment prohibiting the burning of the American flag. It is our right to use the flag as a method of protest. The day flag burning becomes illegal will be the day I protest by burning a flag.
Feminism is relevant. In some cases it is, but there's a real lot of irrelevant feminism. One example of a very good case would be other countries which continue to shamefully oppress women.
Different genders are not treated equally in the workplace. This fact will never change. We have inate stereotypes about one another. Additionally, sexual harassment laws prevent risque chatter that could be okay in male company from entering the ears of female company in some cases.
The Constitution should not be amended to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman. This is insane, why is religion being placed into our constitution which has a 'separation of church and state'
Religious leaders should speak out on political matters. Anyone should be allowed to speak out on political matters. Just because you are the leader of a religion doesn't mean that you give up your right to state what you believe or what you believe God believes.
Salvia divinorum should not be criminalized. It is normally used as incense and in the other case of debate, the subject is not a danger to others in any way. They are totally incapable of any task during the episode and addiction is highly unlikely to occur as with other dangerous substances. (some
Adultery should not be criminalized. Some relationships are open and such laws would threaten that aspect. This would also result in more hidden cheating where no one is going to admit anything.
There are no persuasive non-religious reasons to prohibit same-sex marriage. The only reasons that are valid to stand against same-sex marriage would be doctorinal. Same-sex relations naturally occur in nature and if you are to prohibit same-sex marriage for being an unnatural thing in nature then you must stand against hereto-sex
Gay public figures do not have a responsibility to disclose their sexual orientation. What another person does in their own free time is not my business. Sexual Orientation is trivia.
There are no persuasive reasons to prohibit same-sex couples from raising children. The secular studies I have read agree that there is no hinderance save for the fact that the children may be more likely to be ridiculed for it and that is not a reason to prohibit it.
There are no circumstances under which I support capital punishment. There is no point in going the more costly route.
The use of contraceptives is not immoral. Such morality should not be imposed upon the general public.
There should not be limitations on freedom of expression.
Minors should be exempt from the death penalty. I am against the death penalty so it follows....
The Pledge of Allegiance should not include the phrase "under God," because it was put in for explicitly religious purposes and as such should be removed.
Prostitution should be legal. It is your body, you should be allowed to do what you want with it. Nevada has legal prostitution and the prostitution there that is legal has been shown to be safer for everyone. This business will exist with or without legality, so lets make it legal, g
The death penalty is not an effective crime deterrent. Historically it has never been one. The pickpocketing used to take place mostly during the hangings of pickpockets.
Homosexuals should be allowed to enter the clergy. Do whatever you want go hog wild start your own religions.
Homosexuality is not immoral.
Marijuana should be legal. As bad as or better than alcohol or ciggarettes in safety.
The 'War on Drugs' has not been effective in curbing illegal drug use. Usage has risen. This is a cold hard fact.
Marijuana for medicinal use should be legalized. It has been proven to have benefits you can't get with normal drugs, its natural and while I don't do it, I believe it is fine for recreation. Ciggarettes and Alcohol are just as bad if not worse.
The United States should issue a formal apology for slavery. We were not the ones who started it, but we should apologize for our participation in any wrongdoings that we do. It is our responsibility.
The death penalty should not be available in cases of child rape. Many law enforcement officials in the child abuse divisions agree with me on this that it will only cause child molestors to be very likely to kill their victims in an attempt to avoid the death penalty. It will also cause even less justice in cases where
African Americans should not receive reparations for slavery. Too late, too difficult to sort this out.
