The U.S. should build more nuclear power plants.
Adult stem cells do not have the same medical potential as embryonic stem cells. "Embryonic stem cells can become all cell types of the body because they are pluripotent. Adult stem cells are thought to be limited to differentiating into different cell types of their tissue of origin." From http://stemcells.nih.gov/info/basics/basics5.asp
Psychologists should be able to prescribe medication.
Humans will never travel faster than the speed of light. If you accept special relativity, then no, we'll never get there. As an object approaches the speed of light its mass increases. The only particle that could attain the speed of light is something with no mass, and last time I checked, we have mass. So until somebody discovers some new law of physics, we'll have to leave light speed to the photons.
A large ego is necessary to being a successful politician.
Humans should colonize the moon.
The Universe is expanding.
A belief in natural selection requires a belief in evolution.
Animal cloning should be allowed.
There are no legitimate, scientific, and peer-reviewed criticisms of evolution.
Humans will make contact with intelligent extraterrestrial life.
It should be legal for scientists to develop genetically modified human embryos.
Emotions are contagious.
Patents should be issued for living organisms.
There are no legitimate, scientific, and peer-reviewed "alternatives" to evolution.
The use of nuclear weapons cannot be justified.
Human beings are still evolving. It's a good question. The gene pool is pretty deep and wide, so chances are we have reached the equilibrium part of punctuated equilibrium, which means there's not much major change, but that is still part of the evolutionary process.
Viruses are alive.
The US should intervene with nuclear programs in other countries.
Environmental factors have a greater influence on human behavior than innate qualities. Nature vs. nurture, huh? Genes vs. culture? Honestly, I'm almost 50/50 on this... but I do think that memetic evolution is currently the tail wagging the dog of genetic evolution right now. But memes couldn't have come into existence without the phenotype
The shape of the Earth is round. Well, actually more of an ovoid, a little wider at the equator... but yeah, round, duh.
Human cloning should be allowed.
Ghosts do not exist.
NASA should complete construction of the International Space Station. Our future is in space, not here.
Doctors and researchers should decide whether embryonic stem cells may be used for medical research.
Saving existing life is more important than protecting potential life.
The federal government should subsidize the creation of new stem cell lines. Absolutely. I can't believe this is still an issue. This isn't abortion or anything remotely close to abortion. Stem cells can come from all types of tissue, not just fetal. It's ridiculous that we shackle medical science because of extremist religious be
There is intelligent life on other planets. Without a doubt. It's mathematically impossible for it to be otherwise.
The Earth is several billion years old. This isn't an opinion, it's a *#)(@_( fact.
NASA should focus on manned space flight.
The U.S. should invest more in its space program.
Scientists should pursue embryonic stem cell research.
