Health care reform legislation will not be passed in 2009. This attempt to restructure the nation's health care system ... it's going down fast.
Drinking in moderation is not a viable treatment for alcoholism. Not sure I am qualified to answer, but I think that would be counterproductive.
Media coverage of the swine flu outbreak has been overblown. It's reached ridiculous, almost hysterical, proportions.
Plan B should not be available over-the-counter to women under the age of 18.
Pope Benedict's comments about condoms increasing the problem of AIDS in Africa were accurate. A very conflicting issue for many devout Catholics such as myself. I think, in attempting to restate Church position on a life-and-death issue in Africa, he stumbled over his words a bit. But yes, an argument could be made that the availability of contraceptive devices worldwide has led to more sexual freedom that has tragic consequences in sub-Saharan Africa.
