I think that Democratic party being united shouldn't be able to negate all other related issues. Whether or not the DNC was effective may be better wording(?)
People could think it was a dud and wont affect the polls at all, people can think that Obama blew it, and people could think it was a smash hit, but that doesn't necessarily have something to do with whether or not the party will be united in November

This is too good to be true, Christmas came early to the Obama house with the gift of Baked Alaska. You can almost hear Biden's soundbite in their future debate, " Governor, I know Hillary Clinton, and you young lady, are NO Hillary Clinton."
Nice work. Let's put it up and start researching for opinions. Maybe the most bizarre pick for VP ever.
Steve Benen:
Just yesterday, advisers to the McCain campaign conceded to the New York Times that McCain "thinks highly" of Palin, but "her less than two years in office would undercut one of the McCain campaign's central criticisms of Senator Barack Obama -- that he is too inexperienced to be commander-in-chief." So much for the McCain campaign's message. Stepping back, we have the man who would be the oldest president in American history, who happens to have a record of health problems, picking a virtual unknown who's been a governor for less than two years. Amazing. McCain communications chief Jill Hazelbaker told CBS News this morning that McCain is going to "make the choice from his heart." That seems even more bizarre -- McCain barely knows Palin, hasn't worked with her in any capacity, and hadn't even asked her to serve as a campaign surrogate at any point in the process. For all the talk about McCain valuing personal relationships above all else, McCain has practically picked a stranger, to himself and the rest of the nation.

some issues "is"... yuck
I think one could ask whether Obama exploits race, Hillary exploited Bill, Rush exploited his maid.... some issues we have on Obama is
How will race affect Barack Obama's candidacy?
Was Barack Obama's remark about small-town voters elitist?
Is the New Yorker cover featuring Barack and Michelle Obama effective satire?
Exploit is not inherently negative... the first verb definition here is "utilize", only the second one is "unfairly...for one's advantage". So the current issue could be answered yes meaning, "and he damned well should, it was such a character builder", etc.
Are references to John McCain's time as a prisoner of war (POW) used excessively by his campaign? - Yes - No

Could also be "overused"... Or something like
How are references to John McCain's time as a prisoner of war (POW) used by his campaign? Excessively Effectively Insufficiently

Excessively

Insufficiently
Or simplified
John McCain's references ... are... Effective Excessive Insufficient

cringing? for real? it's a legit question, especially after Obama's quote in today's acceptance speech, "We're all patriots, John McCain...[or something to similar effect]" makes the question all the more germane in the current political environment.
