In spite of the many claims of jobs being taken by them, without them a trip to the produce section at the grocery store would cost quite a bit more for one example. (I know I'll end up with comments and objections on this one, but the bottom line is that they work at lower rates than most citizens would in jobs that have a direct effect on the prices of many items we purchase daily.)

Unlike standard acts of war, terrorists target civilians. They should be tried in civilian courts. Whether or not civilian penitentiaries are appropriate places to house convicted terrorists is another issue.

The Fed tends to take a long time when it comes to adopting new regulations of this kind. We need to lose our dependence on foreign oil as soon as we can. If that means having states encourage change in the auto industry by having tougher fuel efficiency regulations, so be it.

Congress doesn't have a sensible solution on the table, and honestly is going in the wrong direction with this. It should be focusing on tougher regulations/fines for emissions that we already know cause harm to people's health, and earmark fines collected for research into technology that will improve air quality in industrial areas (i.e., filtration technology, chemical management systems, etc.)
