Facebook will reach 1 billion users. Based on its current pace it definitely seems like it will.
Diane Sawyer is a good replacement for Charles Gibson as anchor of ABC World News. People seem happy about it. I don't have much of an opinion, but I assume she'll do better than Katie Couric.
I prefer Facebook to Twitter. I really don't see why the average person would use twitter. It seems much more geared towards celebrities and people looking to promote themselves.
"On The Record with Greta Van Susteren" is the best Fox News evening program. I don't actually watch any of these shows, but I think On The Record is probably the only one I could watch without having my head exploding.
Charles Gibson is the evening network news anchor I trust most.
TechCrunch should not have published internal Twitter documents leaked to them by a hacker.
Facebook merits a higher valuation than MySpace.
I do feel secure using Craigslist for transactions. I hardly ever use it, but I would still use it for getting things like furniture, an apartment, etc.
Craigslist should not remove its 'Erotic Services' listings.
The Pulitzer Prizes are still relevant. Maybe not as much as previously, but they still mean something.
Social networking web sites are not a fad.
The Internet has had a positive effect on journalism. I know that newspapers are having a lot of trouble right now, but that has more to do with their failure to generate revenue off of the internet. More people are reading the New York Times than ever, because it is so accessible. The internet has made it possible for many more people to read articles, and even with blogs becoming more and more popular, I still think there is pretty high demand for quality journalism.
The New York Times' coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is balanced. I would definitely say that it is balanced. Both Nicholas Kristof and Roger Cohen have written articles that were critical of certain aspects of Israeli policy, so I don't think you can say that it is pro-Israel.
YouTube merits a higher valuation than Hulu.
Google should not attempt to acquire Twitter. I think it makes more sense for Google to form some kind of partnership with Twitter. Considering Google is aggressively cutting costs right now, I don't really see why they would want to acquire Twitter, especially since there isn't a clear way that Google could make money off of Twitter.
National evening news broadcasts should not expand to an hour-long format.
Newspapers should not be publicly financed. The government already has enough to pay for.
It is appropriate for the President of the United States to make appearances on late night talk shows. It's clearly a pretty aggressive move, but I don't have any problem with Obama doing it.
Jon Stewart's criticism of CNBC was appropriate. Definitely. The Daily Show is great, and he's more than entitled to point out certain examples of hypocrisy presented on CNBC.
President Obama's Tonight Show appearance will have no effect on him politically. I doubt that appearing on Leno's show will really have that much of an effect. I know he's trying to acquire more political capital so that people will support his financial and budget plans, but I don't think one late-night appearance can do all that much.
Jon Stewart's criticism of CNBC will not affect the way business news is covered. I though Jon Stewart's criticism of Jim Cramer was pretty hilarious, but it would have been easy to criticize a whole bunch of people for their investment advice in the past year. I don't see his actions having much of an impact on business news. Also, people should be getting their business news from places like The Economist, NPR, etc., not as much from CNBC.
Ross Douthat is a good replacement for William Kristol at the New York Times. I read the Times' editorials every morning, but I always struggled getting through Kristol's pieces. I don't mind reading the conservative perspective (and I really enjoy reading David Brooks). My understanding is that Douthat is more out of the Brooks mold, so I think he should be a good replacement.
CNBC is not a credible financial news network. I'm basing this purely on Jim Cramer, since he's the only financial person that I watch on CNBC. He's really entertaining, but he's pretty much a joke and his advice is frequently way off (the New York Times has covered this in detail).
Twitter does not promote narcissism. No, I don't think it does. A more important question is: how does John McCain know how to Twitter, yet he can't check his own e-mail?
Online news should be free. I certainly enjoy it when online news is free, and it would be nice if the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and others stopped charging a fee.
American news media coverage of the Gaza Crisis has been fair.
Fox News is not "fair and balanced."
Blogs are credible sources of news.
The New Yorker cover featuring Barack and Michelle Obama is effective satire. I think it did a good job of capturing all of misconceptions that many people hold about Obama (he's Muslim, "pals around with terrorists," etc.). The Obama camp probably should have had a little more of a sense of humor when the magazine came out.
UNKNOWN: Should NBC have rejected PETA's Super Bowl advertisement?

UNKNOWN: Are newspaper organizations necessary to maintain journalistic standards?
