Polar bears should be listed under the Endangered Species Act. They are dwindling in numbers. Yes.
The U.S. should permit commercial logging in national forests. If it is done responsibly it can be pulled off rather well.
Global warming is a problem primarily caused by humans; higher average temperatures are partly or entirely the result of human actions. The eco system is quite delicate. We have already placed enough damage on it. look up "creeping normalcy" if you disagree.
Racism was not a factor whatsoever in the government's response to Katrina. Class was a factor. It may appear as racism, but it's just another result of classism in the USA.
The U.S. government should provide incentives for manufacturers to build fuel-efficient cars. Yes, but you won't see McCain sticking up for a policy like this that hurts his oil buddies.
Government should regulate mercury levels in the environment. Who else will?
The EPA does not effectively protect the environment. No. Just look at New Jersey turnpike. Gross.
Al Gore should win the Nobel Peace Prize. Yup, he awakened a generation.
The federal government should not release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
Congress should not lift the ban on offshore oil drilling.
The U.S. should not allow drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. (ANWR).
Global warming can be stopped. It depends on the root cause of it really. In some cases it can be prevented, in others it cannot. I hate generalized questions like this.
Global warming is a problem that humans must take actions to address. Unless you deny reality and facts. In that case, you shouldn't be governing anybody.
