I have not received/will not receive the swine flu vaccination. I'm 29 and healthy. Going to avoid the drama.
Abortion coverage should not be excluded from government-sponsored health insurance programs. Have to agree with @Montalvo. Should not be excluded if it's a medical necessity.
Health insurance companies should not be exempt from federal anti-trust legislation. Forget all this debate about reform. Just remove the anti-trust exemption for health insurance companies.
I floss my teeth regularly. Never miss a day.
I do not practice Yoga.
I use homeopathic remedies. Rarely do I take medication when I get sick. But I usually don't get sick. In too many instances medication leads to other problems.
There should be limits on the amount of damages awarded in medical malpractice suits.
I have not had my teeth whitened by a dentist.
Employer health care plans should offer equivalent benefits for both mental health and physical conditions.
Health care reform legislation will be passed in 2009. By next year Obama will be able to say he passed health care reform and brought the economy back from the dead. His second term will be more than secured.
The town hall protests against health care reform are not appropriate. The loud obnoxious drones are mostly being bussed in from outside their district to purposely disrupt and stifle a conversation. These poor bitter folks are being taken advantage of and used to intimidate others when our country should be listening and asking questions so that we come up with the right health care reform plan. It's a dirty tactic being funded and directed by lobbyists or people who benefit from the system remaining untouched.
Healthcare reform should include a government-sponsored health insurance option. The most efficient private healthcare providers will rise to the top. There's an argument to be made that the public-private education system has made private schools more competitive and actually lowered government costs. This study actually talks about how competition from private schools improves achievement for both public and private school students. http://www.ncpa.org/sub/dpd/index.php?Article_ID=17156 Why can't this happen with health care?
Adding zinc to your diet does help prevent pneumonia. Anything that has been proven to boost your immune system I would suspect might help prevent pneumonia.
I would consider non-pharmaceutical treatments if diagnosed with pneumonia. But I'm still young and relatively fit. I also wonder if your body becomes more resistant to diseases and infections if you can overcome them without the help of chemicals and pharmaceutical drugs. I'd rather avoid putting unnatural substances into my body unless I absolutely need to.
Media coverage of the swine flu outbreak has been overblown. You'd swear this thing was ready to wipe out half the planet's population. Roughly 40,000 people in the U.S. die each year from the flu. I understand this is a variant of the H1NI virus that killed millions in Spain in 1918, but this isn't 1918 and we haven't seen one American die yet. It's almost like the media is begging the virus to mutate and turn into a monster. Very scary to watch the news these days.
Organic food provides more nutritional value than conventionally grown food. How can something milked in chemicals be as nutritious for my body versus something that is naturally grown?
Meditation does improve your health.
There are persuasive non-religious reasons for male circumcision.
Pope Benedict's comments about condoms increasing the problem of AIDS in Africa were not accurate. Frightening.
Chain restaurants should be required to display calorie counts on their menus. The United States of Overweightness should do everything in it's power to make people more aware of what they're consuming. We put warning labels on alcoholic drinks so why not force restaurants that serve food hazardous to your health to put up a calorie count chart?
All-natural hygienic products are effective. I would say they're clearly less effective but I wouldn't go as far as saying they're not effective. Some all-natural cleaning products seem to work well. All-natural deodorant doesn't last as long but all-natural tooth-paste seems to get the job done. Al
Medical providers should not have the right to refuse medical care they find morally objectionable. Could prevent rape victims in certain circumstances from access to emergency contraception.
Drinking milk has a negative effect on an adult's health. 'Milk does a body good,' my ass.
"Third-hand smoke" is a viable concern.
Vitamin supplements should play a major role in a healthy lifestyle. Due to genetic issues, emotional and physical stress and the toxins your body encounters in today's society, I don't feel it is possible to get what your body needs through diet alone. Some vitamin supplementation, as a preventive measure, should be a maj
Parents should not administer over-the-counter cold and cough medicines to children under the age of six. I don't trust that stuff on a nice young man like myself, let alone on someone who is still in a very early stage of development.
Viagra should not be available over-the-counter. Government is in place to protect people. Unfortunately, over the last 8 years we've had the Republican Party trying their damndest to prove government is incompetent and incapable of governing. So, naturally people lose faith and feel like less governmen
Children with ADHD should not be treated with medications.
Restless Leg Syndrome is not a legitimate medical condition. It's called bad diet and lack of exercise. Seems highly overexaggerated and sounds like a scam. But have no fear drug companies will spend millions of dollars into convincing you this is a legitimate medical condition. They'll get you hooked by disguising
The FDA should ban aspartame. Aspartame first got FDA approval when Donald Rumsfeld's company Searle was marketing NutraSweet. 100% of the industry funded research attested to aspartame's safety, whereas 92% of the independently funded research identified a problem. You listen to the
The government should subsidize prescription drugs for seniors who cannot afford them.
Positive thinking can improve your health. I'm going to have a great day today! Whew, I feel better already.
Women should abstain from drinking alcohol during pregnancy.
The use of antibiotics in food animals poses a risk to human health.
The FDA should label food products from animal clones.
Americans are over-medicated.
Governments should ban trans fats in commercially-prepared foods. If your argument is, "leave it to the people," then you better be for legalizing all drugs too, because trans fat will do more harm to your body than marijuana. Health care costs are out of control because people make stupid decisions, so why shouldn't th
Sexual orientation is immutable.
Physician-assisted suicide should be legal.
Contraceptives should not be covered by health insurance plans.
