brianr - Should the U.S. allow oil drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR)?

The U.S. should not allow drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. (ANWR).

Why would we? It won't make us less dependent on foreign oil and it won't reduce gas prices. Even a smart conservative would tell us that. Save the bears!

There is absoulutely no good reason why gas prices should be as high as they are today. Bases on proven and unproven reserves the US has enough potential untapped oil reserves to take care of US needs for 100 yrs. Thats plenty of time to develop alternative energy sources to fossil fuel. Unfortunately, power hungry politicians, particularly those on the far left like the two lunatics that are the Senators from my state(Calif), along with the ignorant masses that keep voting them back in office in hopes of getting a piece of Wash DC handouts, are preventing this from happening. However even idiots like some of those on this site who have written in favor of banning drilling in the Arctic will get fed up with high gas prices and high prices for everything else effected by skyrocketing gas prices(like the McDonalds they shove in their faces), and join the chorus of those enlightened among us who realize the benefits to ALL AMERICANS  of tapping US natural resources.
