The Senate has to advise and consent on nominees. It's not there to be a rubber stamp for either party. The filibuster might be the last procedure in Washington that forces bipartisanship.

Can't have it both ways

From an interview on IgnatiusInsight.com:

The filibuster is one of the only mechanisms available in the Senate that forces more bipartisanship.  We need more common ground and cooperation in Washington.  My opponent has filibustered Democratic nominees.  He’s trying to have it both ways.
